In gen 6 sense there's free movement do the NPC's have a cone shaped field of vision similar to MGS?

@pokestrike No, they still only see straight ahead of them, which is weird because if you get next to them but not in their LoS, their head turns to you anyways

@flamingpandaomg Well when they turn can they see you diagonally?

@pokestrike Yes, if they're facing that direction. Their head just turns if you're near them but not in their LoS, but it doesn't change their LoS unless their entire body turns.

@pokestrike I don't think there are any trainers that can possibly face diagonally, actually.

@redenchilada I swore I saw one or two, but that may have been fuzzy memory since I blew through the main game in a day and a half.

@flamingpandaomg The overworld movement system is all kinds of halfassed anyway. Walking is still on a grid, but any other mode of transport is free reign, yet the maps are still designed with only the grid system in mind (grumble grumble one-tile-wide pathways that you can barely fit into on skates grumble grumble), but diagonal movement breaks a lot of stuff like ice puzzles. Also the inability to use the 3DS's primary method of movement (circle pad) without it setting you on those damn impossible-to-control skates.
