      1. @rarity i had yet to see a tie rod tied back together for driving. We do it sometimes when a car comes on a towtruck to get it in the garages.

    4. @awlderpy Reminds me of the time I found a power steering pump in the shop-rite parking lot... one side of it was ground completely flat and had that bright bluish color you get when metal gets too hot... so notmknly did someone remain unaware they'd lost their power steering, they dragged the pump under their car till a third of it was ground away and it fell off.
