@meloetta That's totally circumstantial, though. Shinies, for me, provide an almost contrived sense of satisfaction but serve no actual purpose other than being rare. Quite frankly, I'd rather breed a Flareon with perfect IVs and Adament nature than a shiny Flareon, as the former would be more useful for me.

@meloetta I don't just play competitively, but I guess for me it's more of a reward scenario. Both competitive training and catching shinies require time and effort, but with the former I have something I can use and with the latter I have a dust collector.
