  1. I'm so exited about Midwest Furfest! I know the thought of a Furry con bothers some, but it's a REALLY great con, with a HUGE brony presence, and there'll be a TON of Pony gaming, brought to you by yours truly! :D

    1. @draioct I'm assuming that's in Chicago?

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:27:56 UTC from web
      1. @rarity Indeed, it is in the Chicago area! Technically, Rosemont, but still Chicago area!

        1. @draioct Not quite sure why I asked actually, since it's probably coming up soon and I have no plans for it. Oh well

    2. @randomwonderbolt @rarity You should come! Check out www.FurFest.org if you want details! I'm actually the guy who ran ALL of the MLP content there for the past several years, and I've finally conned a few other local Bronies to run some side panels! Plus, all of the tabletop gaming I'll be running there like "Are You A Changeling?", Inspireland, MLP: TOON, @MassEffect : Unity (all are which games I've developed, personally!), it's going to be a blast!

      1. @draioct Yeah, I definitely have no way to make it down to Chicago by then. I live in SW Michigan

        1. @rarity Such a shame! But, mid April, there'll be one that I frequent, near the Detroit area, so you might be able to plan for that one! :D

          1. @draioct we'll see I have no local friends and going to a con alone would be hella awkward so idk

            1. @rarity Hey, no pressure! It's just an option, if you ever wanted to try out a weekend of Brony fun!

              1. @draioct also I'd probably be going for more of the furry stuff because somehow as time goes on Bronies are actually BIGGER spaghetti monsters than furries

                1. @rarity It's true... Plus, the Furry Fandom (despite what the internet says) is actually a pretty wicked-awesome group of people to hang out it!

                  1. @draioct and yet I spend all my time here. Oh well, people are more than the community they belong to I suppose. Anyways, what's up? I don't remember seeing you around here and yet you seem really cool

                    1. @rarity I've been on a major social networking hiatus for a while. Been a full time student workin' on my psych degree, and running Equestria Inspired (which this site has a link to, here on the front page!) and mostly developing and playtesting the games I mentioned several posts back!

                      1. @draioct oh look at that, we do! Be careful to keep a low profile making games like that, though. You might get HasbrOwned

                        1. @rarity All of my pony-themed games are specifically tailored to avoid all forms of copyright infringement, actually! :D

                          1. @draioct look at you, on the ball and stuff

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:49:47 UTC from web
                            1. @rarity It's a really expanded pony spin-off of the popular "Are You A Werewolf?" or, Mafia, or "Lupus In Tabula" party games that you might be more familiar with

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:52:36 UTC from web
                              1. @draioct I know another guy who made a ponified Mafia game like that. His uses show characters though, and he doesn't sell it or anything, just runs it at conventions and stuff.

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:56:26 UTC from web
                                1. @redenchilada Yeah, there's a group in the Western US that took my game, and changed all the roles to the characters from the show, which is highly dangerous, because not only did they steal my game, but they MADE it copyright infringing. They could, in all honestly, get ME shut down, because they were too lazy to just get my permission

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:58:38 UTC from web
                                  1. @draioct real cool guys /s

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 01:58:57 UTC from web
                                    1. @rarity Actually, I don't know if you heard of the official MLP card game that they tested out at GenCon this year... But it's actually about %75 similar to another game system I devised when the show came out, but shelved the idea due to copyright restraints... Now I'm both happy and sad, because one of my ideas was thought good enough for Hasbro, but I'm so sad that I can't claim credit XP

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:02:02 UTC from web
                                      1. @draioct probably just a coincidence, right? I mean, I wouldn't put it above Hasbro to take fan content since they've done it before, but to take a whole game?

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:03:32 UTC from web
                                        1. @rarity Oh,. it's completely coincidence! I never shared that particular game design with more than 4 people, and I don't think they saw enough to build the system off of it. But, I DO know that Hasbro's been watching me...

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:06:01 UTC from web
                                          1. @draioct Harbo is literally the NSA #

                                          2. @draioct Question: How can you tell that Hasbro has tabs on what you're doing?

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:08:10 UTC from web
                                            1. @clayinthecarpet Easy. I run panels at -several- conventions I go to, across the country. After I run panels, the cons get information from Hasbro (and things that neither they nor I can share, publicly), and I get informed of their responses. Plus, I cheat... I know a few people on the *inside*

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:10:03 UTC from web
                                              1. @draioct Ah, I see. Very interesting. Take care of yourself, for sure. Though, really the only worry you should have is the receipt of a C&D, which is rather common and harmless unless you just ignore it entirely.

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:18:07 UTC from web
                                                1. @clayinthecarpet I am always on the lookout! But, I'm %99 sure all of my work has been done specifically to avoid ever teeeechnically earning one, but... You never know

Thursday, 07-Nov-13 02:19:21 UTC from web
                                                  1. @draioct I hope you're right!

                                  2. @draioct Nah, the guy I know lives in central Texas. And he isn't commercializing it or anything.
