I'm sure noone else cares, but I'm back up to my old QWERTY typing speeds with the Dvorak layout. #nerdlife
-
@scribus Dvorak?
-
@leonkfox A more efficient keyboard layout. More common keys on the homerow, letters set up to alternate hand used more often and to try to work pinkie-to-index finger.
-
@scribus I just use the default one on my htc Desire Z, I don't mind since I normally use my phone's QWERTY keyboard anyway. I only tend to use on screen one in portrait when I only have one hand free.
-
@leonkfox I still use the QWERTY one on my phone, since I only have thumbs for it anyway. But on a computer, I touch-type Dvorak.
-
@scribus You have thumbs? Did you get those from magic or something

@communistprime They're prosthetic.

-
@scribus Oh, I assumed it was for a phone XD
-
@leonkfox I know you can set up a Dvorak onscreen keyboard in Android, but I don't know if you can (easily) re-map the physical keyboards.
-
@scribus I wouldn't want to, to be honest. QWERTY is the way to go IMO.

@scribus I often wonder about typing with a DVORAK layout. Does it conflict with ergonomically laid out keyboards?

@ceruleanspark I don't know about that, but I do know that I seem to hurt less since I switched. Problem is, it was part of a few changes I'd made at the same time, so there's no guarantee it did anything but set me back ~50 WPM for a few months to a year.
