Here's a little story I remembered the other day I thought I should share. A couple months ago there was this presentation for Grad Nite at my high school. Woo-hoo. Anyway, they had this dancing contest on the stage, and 4 guys went up, 3 of them on the dance team, and the other guy, putting it nicely, competed in the special Olympics. My friend and I thought it was kind of messed up that 3 of them were dancers, and decided to cheer for the other guy. As they danced, yeah, there was a lot of screaming for the dancers cause most of the girls think they're hot (don't get why), but as it turned out, many others had the same idea as me and my friend, and the guy who wasn't on the dance team won! It kinda showed me that even while learning through a lot of my life that people can be shallow, people can be genuinely kind to others. That's something MLP has taught me as well, and has really brought my optimistic side out. Just something to share :3

You all helped me today. Let me explain... I work in a call center that, among other things, takes National Suicide Prevention Lifeline calls. I had a really rough call where a gentleman lost everyone close to him within a few years and was now homeless, hadn't been able to afford his medication in weeks, and had been fighting depression for years. He was preparing to end his life to escape the constant emotional pain and loneliness. His call stuck with me long after, and I felt down for hours. I wanted to be anywhere but at the office right then. After a melancholy lunch break I got back to work and put in my earbuds to play music so I could kinda zone-in and get things done no matter my mood.

Okay I'm gonna be really sappy now, ponies. I'm honestly so happy I decided to join Rainbow Dash Network. When I first saw it I wasn't sure if it was something I wanted to do since I have so many accounts on so many sites I never visit. But this is different. This is a real community where everypony is noticed. I always felt like I never belonged when I was in other communities and it just made me feel so alienated. Now I have a place where I feel like I belong and that I can be part of something! I'm so happy I joined, so happy I found out about Ponies. It's all changed my life for the better and I am very very grateful for it. Thank you, everypony, for making this fandom what it is! With that, good night everypony. @mlpapplejack I almost forgot, I had a random pony moment yesterday and a brohoof from a complete stranger... I had to hit the store for some comestibles and had paused to look at a wicker basket that was part of a display in the store, it had a row of apples painted along it's edge and, for some reason, I said to myself, without even realizing it "Who's a silly pony?" and this guy standing nearby replied "Applejack", we just looked at each other a moment and at the same instant gave each other a brohoof before going on our seperate ways.

Today is the anniversary of the April 16th, 2007 Virginia Tech Shooting. On that day, Senior Seung-Hui Cho opened fire in two separate locations, killing 32 and wounding a number of others, before committing suicide. While I myself was not a student at the time, a number of my friends were on campus during the event and it's touching close with a lot of them. ~ Spare a moment of your time today for the student body of Virginia Tech, as we take a day to reflect on the past, honor the victims, and push forward. ~ "We are Virginia Tech! @draggle I'm going to take a step in a different direction from whats been said: Congratulations. You fought your way through challenge after challenge to the top, and made a life for yourself. While I don't envy the situation you were in, I cannot help but admire your strength, and hope to draw some strength of my own from your story of success. More power to you. #brohoof
