    @shred316 The producers of the show can't reliably predicted when fans will latch onto a background character like that. Or even a foreground character for that matter (Trixie, anypony?). Their reaction time is also slowed considerably by how far ahead the episodes are produced.

    @shred316 Octavia's first appearance in the show is during the season one finale. She is unvoiced and her name was invented by the fans. She gets more screen time than Scratch but is otherwise the same type of character- a one-shot background pony they threw into a random scene that fans have latched onto. She reappears briefly in one season two episode and then is never seen again.
