  2. Has anyone done a "Smile, Smile, Smile!" flash mob?

  3. !abqbronies, if you need a place to park I live like a block away, and I have four parking spaces and enough room in front of the house for two more. Seriously. Call 440-1479

  4. @erfunden !abqbronies If it's the Pete Dominici Center East auditorium, I've been there for a lecture, and I was thinking that exact same thing. It has one big screen and smaller ones to the sides. If it's held there, I'll just have to walk over; it's less than a block from my house! And since it's near the edge of campus, parking should be a bit easier than if it's at the heart. Please let us know when you get more info!

  5. !abqbronies With Nov. 10 as the first semi-official date we've heard, I rejoice because that's not a morning I have Toastmasters. So, do we have any ideas for a venue? I've been admiring the big new screens at the Village Inn on Menaul, east of University. They get sports channels, but I haven't seen if they get HubHD. I think we'd be more welcome at a game store.

  7. !abqbronies Regarding a viewing party, there are about 18 hours of the show; in four batches, it would be 4 1/2 hrs each session, and in three batches it would be just under 6 hours each. Perhaps a favorite episodes viewing party; everyone who is going to come for certain picks one episode to watch? We could marathon all the two-parters, 2 hrs. We could watch the major worldbuilding episodes, like Fall Weather Friends, Winter Wrap-Up, Sonic Rainboom, Over a Barrel, Cutie Mark Chronicles, Return of Harmony (the Discord two-parter), Lesson Zero, Family Appreciation Day, Hearth's Warming Eve, It's About Time, Hurricane Fluttershy, and Dragon Quest. That batch would be four and a half hours.

  8. @bobmortis !abqbronies I just got the four posters with four of the new Metallic Shiny / Clear Sparkly blind bags at the Walmart on Coors and Rio Bravo. You may have to let the clerk know they're free, which is why they don't have a bar code. Also, I got Metallic (silver) Rarity! I'm going to start bringing my extra blind bags to events for trading. I've got two spare Rainbow Dashes, and one spare clear blue RBD.

  9. Hay !abqbronies, I just got the Target-exclusive blind-bag packs: Cloudsdale, Apple, and Wedding sets, and the rainbow of Crystal blindbags. Official Gilda and Surprise, woohoo! I got the Lomas/Eubank store's last set of one of the rectangular sets, but I forget which one. They also have giant brushable Shiny/Cadance. <a href="http://imgur.com/Adim7"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/Adim7.jpg" alt="Target-exclusive packs" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /></a>

  11. @beermug Pretty much. Hey !Abqbronies , let's plan for our next meetup. I'd like to go to Cliffs on a Saturday in June. (Morgan is no longer interested in the group since (in her words) "it's mostly a guy thing".)

Wednesday, 30-May-12 19:26:28 UTC from web in context
  12. @beermug We plan to have a season premiere viewing party, since the finale party was such a success. In the meantime, I would like to get an !AbqBronies tabletop RPG going. I'm no GM, but I bet there's at least one such brave individual in our group. I've started on my hiatus fanfic, and as it gains traction, I hope to maintain my writing chops.

  13. @beermug Hibernating. The hiatus is traumatic.

  14. @kyan Still planning on attending?

Saturday, 19-May-12 05:17:29 UTC from web in context
  15. @halogunnysgt We'll be partying until sundown at least, so show up whenever you can; don't cut off your own graduation stuff early. I'm certain there will be enough food left.

Sunday, 13-May-12 03:37:26 UTC from web in context
  16. @kuugen Let me know if you can bring a bottle of Dr. Pepper or Diet Coke (or one of each). We'll be glad to see you at the party with all the other !abqbronies - we'll have a Pin The Tail On Cranky Doodle, with blindfold, spinning, and thumbtacks!

  17. Yo !abqbronies this is the big party announcement. My friend Morgan is a young woman with autism. Help her have a graduation bash she'll never forget! She's graduating from APS, and has never had a big blow-out party. Join us in celebrating her accomplishments at Bataan Park on Saturday, May 19th, from 4pm-9pm. There wll be food, music, party games, and other fun stuff like party favors. Please call me, Luke Allen, at 255-2351, text me at 440-1479, or contact me electronically, and let me know if you (and guests) will or will not be attending, so I can get a food headcount estimate. (We're aiming for sixty or so including her other friends and family, but the more the merrier.) I'm also looking for our local Elements of Generosity to step forward and help with grilling, or donations of pizza, ice cream, etc. (Alcohol will not be allowed, as this is a public park, whether minors are present or not.)

  18. @arcshod You'll be welcome. I also recommend starting a NM Tech group. I remember 15 years ago someone started an anime club, before anime took over Saturday mornings.

  19. If Israel gets a dub, I hope the translators call them the Elements of Shalom. From Wikipedia: In the book Not the Way It’s Supposed to Be: A Breviary of Sin, author Cornelius Plantinga described the Old Testament concept of shalom: The webbing together of God, humans, and all creation in justice, fulfillment, and delight is what the Hebrew prophets call shalom. We call it peace but it means far more than mere peace of mind or a cease-fire between enemies. In the Bible, shalom means universal flourishing, wholeness and delight – a rich state of affairs in which natural needs are satisfied and natural gifts fruitfully employed, a state of affairs that inspires joyful wonder as its Creator and Savior opens doors and welcomes the creatures in whom he delights. Shalom, in other words, is the way things ought to be.

  23. !abqbronies We have secured a location to view the season finale! Ares Wargames near Carlisle and Menaul has agreed to host our viewing party for the hour of 11am-noon. They're a Friendly Local Gaming Shop, catering to the D&D and miniatures crowd. Show up around 10:45am to get the best seats. Their two widescreen HDTVs will be airing The Hub on DirecTV (which unfortunately does not carry HubHD). They also have snacks: chips, candy bars, M&Ms, sodas, etc. Show your thanks by trading bits for noms. They're expecting 15-30 people, so let us know if you'll be coming in from out of town. 24. @rest and !abqbronies We're planning a viewing party for the Royal Wedding in two weeks (Sat. April 21, 11am-noon). Please submit your ideas for the venue; I'm going to try to get a local RPG/wargame shop to host us, but I don't know if that'll be possible. We had seven people, I expect at least ten.

Tuesday, 10-Apr-12 15:51:26 UTC from web in context
  25. @miscelinious Yes. Come bowl with us. At least three people will be there at 5pm; we may or may not get a pizza too. The alley has a good snack bar.

Saturday, 07-Apr-12 18:56:29 UTC from web in context
  26. @bobmortis !abqbronies Possible topics for discussion: where to meet to watch the Royal Wedding on April 21; how often we'll meet in the summer for social activities such as Cliffs, Paintball, Putt-Putt, Lazer-Tag, movies, watching MLPFiM, etc; art or charity projects; accentism, inclusion, and the Derpy controversy; anything else you can think of. There may be minors, and Sandia Bowl is pretty public, so keep it SFW and don't post pictures without permission. Shoes are $2, a single game is $3, and I bowl around a 100.

Saturday, 07-Apr-12 04:54:14 UTC from web in context
  27. @bobmortis That sounds perfect.

Monday, 02-Apr-12 22:53:28 UTC from web in context
  28. @bobmortis Sandia Bowl never has league lanes, they usually have at least one lane vacant, and on a weekend they're $3/game and $2/shoes. They also have a great jukebox. They also have pizzas.

  29. @bobmortis and !abqbronies I really want to get another meetup scheduled for sooner, with monthly meets after that. Tentative agenda: watch episodes 1 and 2, discuss friendship and harmony and the lessons we've learned from the show, discuss other community activities: bowling, movies, Cliffs, Putt-Putt, etc. What day of the week is best for each of you? Saturday is best for me, but any other day works too, pretty much.
