  1. @kingcarcinopony Wooohooo! And don't forget the dragon! Gotta fight the dragon!

  2. @scribus Yeah, but do you think that you could fly a plane, and not lose it when you hear Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone" start playing? I couldn't. xD

  3. @mrn4rmn4rm Partly Civil Air Patrol, but mostly through the Air Force's ROTC program.

  4. @scribus It's not just the Navy, every branch does it... Though I do admit, the Navy is the worst, followed by the Army, Marines, and the Air Force (Who isn't that bad, they just don't like you)

  5. @kingcarcinopony No joke. It's funny how closely all branches of the military resemble each other in terms of the BS they spew out to drag you in, and then the heck that follows it.

  6. @mrn4rmn4rm We're 1 month into our second 6 month training session. So, overall... Maybe 40% into training.

  7. @kingcarcinopony That sounds exactly like how we got dragged into the Air Force. "Travel around the world, fly any plane you want, enjoy the blue skies!"

  8. We're not even trained yet, and our flight commander is asking us where we would like to be stationed. I said "Either Germany... Or Japan."

  9. @kingcarcinopony The're everywhere!! Also... Loves you too bro!

  10. And so another day ends out here in Flying Tiger land... the last quote I heard from one of our instructors: "In the event that you do decide to crash your plane... Do it responsibly."

  11. @heartstring Well, imagine you're in a passenger plane, except of being in the back, you're the pilot, and you're traveling 3 times as fast. Really, the air around you disappears, and it's just you vs. gravity. Funny story, for one of our training missions, we had to act as if our missile guidance was out, so that meant we had to dive bomb our target. Going 500 mph, releasing a bomb about 600-400 feet, and then yanking the joystick back so hard that you immediatly lose feeling in your feet. It's quite a feeling... That you can't really describe, because you can't fell it! xD... And as for your speed question. Twice, actually. Once at Barksdale with an F-16, and the other at White Sands Missile range with a F-14

  12. @heartstring The capabilities of the T-38? It was developed as a "Small fighter" for the Air Force, but due to aerodynamics and such, it was replaced by the F-5. After the F-5 came out, the Air Force adopted the T-38 mainly as a trainer for fighters (Though, out west there is one or two squadrons that still use the T-38 as a fighter, but those were replaced by the F-16 after the Thunderbirds "Diamond Crash") The seat depends on what we're doing that day. If it's normal flying, then it's the front seat... Weapons run, rear. I've flown both Props and Jets... The Jets, of course, win by a longshot.

  13. @heartstring As being a pilot in training, we almost all the time go up with an instructor... So if he says it's ok, we go. And most likely, you're probably right. Dang it Fluttershy, GET RID OF THEM!!

  14. It's bad when you're told that due to unknown reasons, the T-38 Talon you're flying has a 65% chance of killing you today.

  15. @mrbrown Basically, it started after a father of four was shot by police since he "was carrying a gun", then it transfered to government cuts and unemployment, and now it's just gang related,

  16. @rollout Good point, but it's instability that scares me... He helps you at one time, and then tries to blow you to pieces the next

  17. @rollout I'm more afraid of Wheatley... At least GLaDOS tells you that you're gonna die

  18. @commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese That's a good idea... Hopefully iTunes likes Androids... then again... Apple dislikes everything

  20. @pinhooves Haha, so i'm not the only one. No flights today! Whoo, another day off.

  21. @pinhooves Thanks! Yeah, just joined yesterday... Still feel outta place though xD

  22. How is it that we can take off in rain, hail, highwinds, etc... But when the temp. goes above 100 degrees, you get a middle finger and "Too bad, the runway's too hot!"

Wednesday, 10-Aug-11 12:36:42 UTC from web in context
  23. @kingcarcinopony As defined by our flight commander, "Contrary to popular belief, the A-10 is not a plane! It's a flying gun."

Wednesday, 10-Aug-11 03:22:05 UTC from web in context
  24. 101 of A-10 flying: Regardless of where you are, firing the gatling gun is NOT ok.
