!gunbronies For the record, that 1911 I picked up before my college courses began has proven to be a most enjoyable gun to shoot. ;)

!gunbronies I have been rather busy, given that I have been preparing to return to college (I will be going to school full-time and working full-time for the next two years), but I finally did manage to get my hooves on a 1911 variant. :)

!gunbronies I finally noticed 9X19mm ammunition on shelves again. Granted, it was being rationed; I was only allowed to buy 100 rounds of it. Nonetheless, the mere fact that such ammunition is trickling in just shows that the panic is continuing to run out of steam. Furthermore, I also picked up a Ruger Mark III pistol, given that I still have a decent stash of .22LR ammunition (I can practice pistol shooting cheaply with this while I slowly rebuild my 9mm stash). :)

!gunbronies My youngest brother turned 21 recently and bought a Springfield Armory XD pistol chambered in .40 S&W. :)

@mosinscratch !gunbronies Indeed. They are relatively affordable, reliable, and have proven themselves in the service of police departments and armed forces across the globe for over a quarter of a century. There is a reason why I trust my life to my GLOCK pistols (G17 for home defense, G19 for concealed carry). ;)

!gunbronies I finally got around to trying out an XDM chambered in .40 S&W. The pistol has good ergonomics, but when it comes to polymer framed pistols, I still prefer the GLOCK. I can be accused of bias, given that I have owned, fired, and carried GLOCK pistols for years, but I believe it is undeniable that the GLOCK has the superior trigger (less travel and quicker reset).

@mosinscratch !gunbronies We all have to start from somewhere. My gun collection started with a single GLOCK 17. ;)

@ceruleanspark !gunbronies I will have to give things some thought. I am tempted by Arsenal's SAM7R, a milled AK-47 variant produced in Bulgaria. Bulgarian AK's are known for their quality, and I do not yet own a variant with a milled receiver (the ones I own have stamped receivers).

!gunbronies Due to an accounting error, my employer probably owes me around $2K or so before taxes. I am not sure if I will end up doing this, but it is rather tempting to add another gun to my collection. :D

@mosinscratch !gunbronies Greetings. Again, I apologize for this delayed response, as I have been busy as of late yet again.
-
!gunbronies I am still saving up and waiting for the panic prices to fall, but I think my next gun is going to be a Vepr rifle chambered in 7.62X54R.

@ntrajax !gunbronies I would miss my guns as well if I were separated from them. :(

@timendelve !gunbronies Indeed. Many things are hard to find due to the panic, but these panic prices must eventually end; people will max out their credit cards sooner or later. Even before the panic, .45 ACP was a bit expensive, so even when it becomes widely available again, I am still going to reload it.
-
@timendelve !gunbronies I definitely recommend GLOCK pistols. I still need to get a 1911 myself. I have fired a couple of 1911's (Springfield Armory Loaded chambered in .45 ACP, Koonan 1911 chambered in .357 Magnum). Needless to say, I was quite impressed with them. I will probably start out with one chambered in .45 ACP, and given the expense of that cartridge, I will probably also get a shell holder and some reloading dies for that caliber as well.
-
@timendelve !gunbronies I am doing well so far. I apologize for my inactivity as of late, given that I have been busy (I recently registered for fall semester college courses).
-
@timendelve !gunbronies I have two GLOCK pistols, and I am quite fond of them. I bought a Gen 3 GLOCK 17 shortly after my 21st birthday, and it was the first gun I ever bought. This gun is now outfitted with a 150 lumen tactical light for home defense purposes. I finally got around to getting my concealed carry permit in late 2010, and I ended up purchasing a Gen 4 GLOCK 19 for concealed carry. GLOCK pistols are simple, rugged, and reliable. :)

!gunbronies I wish I had some spare cash lying around so I could add a Beretta BM 59 to my collection of Garand-style rifles.

!gunbronies While such things sold out quickly, I did see lower prices on stripped AR-15 lower receivers and M1A/M14 magazines. Hopefully this is indicative of panic prices finally starting to subside.
