So.. I slept the afternoon away, but got some nice exercise this morning with my roomies! Then we had a nice lunch. I hope they get up soon, but until then I will probably try to write again or play !tf2.

!tf2bronies here you go, the first update I'll post. This is more for if you are curious how I recolor textures. It's easy if you take the texture file and reduce the saturation to 0 or -*insert number here* depending on what image editor you are using, then up the contrast a bit. After that, I use an overlay setting, then just paint the color on top. This way, the original texture can be preserved, but the color can be changed. http://i.imgur.com/lKvjW.png

@1pony4all well i think you could go with something like "opals cat box" or a "parasprite in the box" that where my ideas when i thought about creating a skin for this weapon. the display could be replaced with a picture so it looks like a window

@chistery !writeponies I read that one back when EQD posted all the contest entries. I thought it was really good personally, no grammatical errors I saw, and great pacing. The ending was kind of a downer though. It would be great if you wrote a sequel with more happiness involved. I'd go into more depth, but wouldn't want to spoil it further for those who've yet to read it.
