@nerthos the only thing I can think of that is as good as divine intervention is Miracles in Pathfinder. Playing a game with my older brother and we made it reeeeeally far until we got ambushed and eneded up facing off against a demon posed warlord and his entire army. One of our party members had been preparing a miracle and got to cast it at the last second. He asked to take the whole party "anywhere but here" to which we were then all killed instantly and sent to another plane.
