It's just most companies choose to focus their legal efforts on anything that competes in the intellectual space and/or affects the image or public perception of said IP/trademark(s). A lot of kids try to shout "pardoy!" and think that saves their patoodie, but parody has to specifically comment on the original IP, like satire for example. And even then you can't just use the exact likenesses and/or names.
