    @mushi Yeah, I can understand a lot of the criticisms Zankyou got (it's not structurally perfect, some of Five's dialog, etc.) but I think at its core it was still a really compelling story about youth in revolt, and god damn did it look gorgeous a lot of the time too. If I were to describe any anime as "filmic", that would be one of the first to come to my mind.
