In other news Concrete Revolutio is a pretty great show. It's incredibly messy and busy and not always really well paced, but gosh is it so tremendously ambitious in terms of its narrative as well as its thematic and aesthetic choices. It's difficult to really describe briefly, but it's basically if Watchmen was an anime set in postwar Japan instead of postwar America, with a healthy mixture of both magic and science. It has this really neat pop-art visual style that lends a very comic book esque quality to its lighting and colour choices, plus it's coupled with some really eye-catching character designs. The animation isn't quite as good as some the best stuff I've seen from Studio Bones, but it still has its highlights here and there and is generally driven by a really confident sense of identity. I'm definitely glad I checked it out, it's really fun and has a lot to offer and a lot to say.
