@macpony55 It's about La Reconquista, when the kingdoms of Castilla, Aragón, and a couple more banded together to expell the arab (or moros, as they were called) from Iberic lands. The most unique and weird thing about El Cid, was that when he was killed by an arrow, the Spanish tied the body to the horse, in a proud and commanding pose, so the arabs would think that he was still alive, and that worked out perfectly, with the spanish winning the battle.
