  1. SOPA is wrong-minded. Thomas Jefferson would say there is no such thing as "intellectual property" and that there is no such thing as "piracy" of digital content. Shutting down free speech would never be the right way to do this. It's a losing proposition, trying to legislate away the ability of computers to do what they do so naturally: store, share, and copy information, at essentially no cost. What is needed to protect production of content, is a new reward system that matches the nature of the situation, and not a physical-merchandise metaphor for information and a hopeless attempt to control and police it on that basis. -PvK, SodaHead
