@moonprincess Presicely, the point is to think of there personalities, not there cannon interactions. i.e. Let's say I made a Derpaloo fic. I know Derpy is a mail-pony that is derp. and I know Scoot is a CMC hipster. Now, all I do is mix well and see if it's good.
