  1. > I see that you are having problems with logical conclusions.
@ani @ferretsyndicate The one who made this logical conclusion based on your assertions in this thread is I.

    > Augusto Pinochet is a person that I have little knowledge around, he seemed to be anti socialist more than anti communist but definitely not a humanist and I guess he was really an anarcho capitalist.
Augusto Pinochet got particularily infamous for the things he did to "save the country from communism".

    > he seemed to be anti socialist more than anti communist
@ani Since no distinctions were made between various ideologies collected under the "communism" umbrella, Mikhail Bakunin and Kim Il Sung undistinguished, I don't see in what way is a socialism/communism distinction any different.

      @6gain He-he, there's hope for us yet :-).
      > maybe we need a gathering place. Is the old XMPP room still alive?
Well, I never cared about it even when it was around, it didn't even occur to me when I got the chance to revive the XMPP service.
gnusocial@conference.bka.li should be sufficient, I think.

@bedap That's no big deal. The only reason this is a problem is because the domain advertises an IPv6 address with an AAAA record.
Just remove the invalid IP address from DNS, and it'll all be good :-).

For now I've hardcoded the IPv4 address in the hosts file. I really don't want to disable IPv6 on the server. Luckily, this doesn't happen as often as it once did.

@bedap, if you read this, please fix the AAAA DNS record.

                          • @moonman I'm just implying that if they don't block HTTPS, then they don't truly block !xmpp either.
It is possible to connect to XMPP through the 443 port, and it's possible to stream it through HTTPS with WebSockets or BOSH.
It's possible to block even that, but I somehow doubt they have DPI of this level (or any) ;-).

                                        • @samir @chimo If it helps, that's how I adjusted it: https://paste.debian.net/1074976

I've installed the dependencies from the distribution's repository, so I had to adapt it for newer ReactPHP Socket and Ratchet.
I also found that the current approach isn't flexible when it comes to reverse proxying, so that's another change.

I wonder if maybe the URL path should rather be something like /main/_ws rather than just /_ws, to avoid collisions with usernames.

                                              • Got these two cables to replace the wire of my headphones. Silicone coating instead of rubber, high quality. The black one is much nicer looking, but has 4 wires so it can only support the headphones. The orange one has five so it can support stereo headphones and a microphone, but is heavier and was used in an industrial welding area so it's not super pretty. I could try to use the common wire for both mic and speakers but I don't have a composite jack port on the computer and I'm not sure if it works with two separate jacks.

The connectors are compatible between both so that's not an issue, they'd connect to the same port.
