  5. @rainclop I'm still thinking about picking up a DS lite to get the sequels. I've held on to the first one for a few years.

  6. @rainclop we need to make a game-design/programming group. I am going to go to college to become a game designer. I am taking APCS right now, and agree that GUIs in Java are REALLY hard!

  11. @rainclop To be honest, I have no idea what you're talking about.

  12. @rainclop Super Paper Mario? I still want to play it, I just haven't really done a thing with my Wii as of late.

  13. @rainclop True. But still. Can't really imagine Fluttershy actually fighting someone. Even if her birds or rabbits do most of the fighting. @retl You have a point there. But I guess someone could come up with something. I'm just saying that if they did make a game, I'd want it to be some kind of RPG.

  14. @rainclop Ehhh. Seems to me ponies are sort of the antithesis of a beat-em-up game. In any case though, I'll direct your attention here: http://www.ponychan.net/chan/g/res/12521.html

  15. @rainclop RPGs are pretty much the only games I play nowadays. I gave up MMOs a while back, but I haven't though about it much, so I dunno if an MLP MMO would be a good or a bad idea.

  16. @rainclop That, and how does combat help spread the joy of friendship?

Wednesday, 11-May-11 23:05:38 UTC from web in context
  17. @rainclop It would be fun, but the problem is much the same you'ld have with a deeper RPG of lots of units/monsters Disgaea/FinalFantasy/ElderScrolls/Ultima style: What in the world would the ponies fight? In Paper Mario games, there isn't a huge variety in the enemies, but it's not really combat-focused anyway, so it sorta pans out. Though I guess the same could be said for a beat-em-up. Don't need a ton of variety in enemies if it's an execution challenge.

  18. @rainclop Or a Morrowind/Oblivion style RPG. That's pretty much what I wish for. Can't get enough of those games.

  19. @rainclop I actually had an idea for a side scroller beat em up a while back, with descriptions and stuff. wanna see if i can find it

Wednesday, 11-May-11 23:02:49 UTC from web in context
  20. @rainclop Yeah, all of those would be cool. But I can't really see how I'd be able to play as Fluttershy in a beat'em up. :/ But a sidescrolling game would be cool.

  21. @rainclop I've never talked to u before

  22. @rainclop Yeah, or kind of an RPG would be cool. I love RPGs, they're my favorite game genre. Also, there's a spider under my bed and I don't wanna go to sleep. I don't want it to crawl on my tonight. :(

  23. @rainclop Cool. I've never done anything graphic stuff in Java. Only text programs. @starshine I can see why. Writing code and making sure it works takes time. I fin it fun though, especially when you manage to get a complex program working. Of course, what I think is complex is probably child's play to others.

  24. @rainclop That could have something to do with it.

  25. @rainclop You totally should. I'm thinking of doing a lot of Java during the summer, and try to learn how to make games and such. Guessing it's really difficult, but if I just spend enough time on it and read tutorials and such, I can probably learn. I mean, I'm never gonna accomplish anything by not even trying. And making games is what I'm aiming for when I grow up, although I'll probably do more graphic stuff.

  26. @rainclop If I had any skills in Java and stuff, sure. Currently I can only do really simple text based programs, so actually making a game is pretty distant ATM. :/

  27. @rainclop Well, uh, don't hold your breath. It might take a while. >.> I believe me and some other brony here had plans on building a portal, but I can't remember who it was.

  28. @rainclop Hopefully. Haven't built a portal yet. We'll see.
