@shadowflame Im pretty sure you just go to your profile and click on the link below your avatar that says "change avatar" And as far as private messages, I think the person has to be subscribed to you

@shadowflame Also the group tag just logs the post into the group for easy access, it's not intended to make them private in any way. DMs require mutual subscription, with the notable exception of th staff members.

@shadowflame Oh, you've been registered since 2011. There's a "tutorial" now for new users, which explains the basic functions of the site.

@shadowflame See, that's /the whole point/ of this site. Make posts public so people meet eachother. If you want privacy, make subscription groups and use DMs. DMs are private. People are encouraged here to reply to posts they deem interesting, with the objective of making new friends.

@shadowflame The site puts everything on the public timeline. That's just how it works, sorry. Plus is a thing now, though, so there are spoiler tags to keep people from throwing fits about the whole deal at least.
