"BREAKING: Hillary Clinton demands Trump not withdraw from race."
Saturday, 08-Oct-16 22:12:48 UTC from web-
@rarity if he dropped out i wonder if Gary Johnson or Jill Stein would have a shot at winning
-
@mrmattimation pfft, no. They'd put up Pence and lose the Trump vote, AND they would lose any moderates who might be swayed by trumps more liberal policies because Pence makes Cruz look like Bernie. The GOP is toast and they know it, president wise. That's why all of these elected officials are distancing themselves from him; they are hoping to Supply Side Jesus that they can save the down-ticket races.

@mrmattimation the Trump vote would abstain, and I think any leftist would vote Hillary to make it an emberassing landslide. Trump dropping out would, IMO, hurt Stein if anything

@mrmattimation thanks. It'd be better if I knew how to mix, and if FL Studio wasn't so archaic

Looks like Wikipedia took down the 2016 Clown Epidemic page. That, or my search terms were terrible.

@rarity See, I would have expected "2016 evil clowns" to bring that up, maybe not top result but I'd still expect it to show.

I'm totally going as a clown for halloween btw

As a firm believer in balance I'd say if you do something that causes a negative effect to yourself it would be incorrect but too many factors there too.

@awl that's basically what I'm saying, pretty sure... I can only determine what is and isn't right for myself.
-
@rarity yeah. The difference is I'd say it's a start towards objective.
-
@awl well, I would say that I think it is a positive action to act in kindness towards others, and to preserve peace. If people treat others positively, it will create a more stable, prosperous society, and that would benefit the individual. That is why I say individuals each acting in their OWN best interest would inevitably improve society. A successful culture free from theft and violence does not require objective morality, but on the surface it would be hard to tell.

controversial post:
i don't see how superhero comics aren't vigilantism. there's no way to justify it. you can say its a drawing but i mean its got people taking justice into their own hands outside an established legal system and that's what you're seeking out- eris and takeshitakenji repeated this.
-
@lambadalambda i still don't know if people really didn't like my post or really don't like superheroes
-
@delores I have no idea...
-
@clacke No idea honestly. The religious seem to believe gods are figures to be obeyed by default, but in my opinion goodness and justice must come from oneself, from a desire to be righteous, not from fear of an all-powerful being. Good behaviour is worth nothing if it's done out of fear of consequences. It's only commendable when it's done without an expected punishment or reward, just for the sake of being good. Then again this is not something that can be expected from most people so I'm content with them just staying in line, believing a higher power commands them. Again, nothing says a god cannot be righteous and a force of justice, but godhood does not grant that by itself. A god could be no more fair than a common thief, or better than any of us, we don't know that as we don't know any personally.

@rarity no no, it's a simpsons reference albeit likely ad-libbed.
-
@nerthos i'm more the type who says nothing until myself or mine is effected negatively.
-
@awl I'm more idealist than that, but ultimately I'd be fine with it if people could live without having to fear crime. I wouldn't lift a finger if I knew that when someone is robbed, they can just call the cops, vigilante organization, or whoever is providing true justice, and have the thief caught and the goods retrieved (as an example, other crimes apply too). But that's not the case now so I'm completely willing to take an active part in it, even if the people close to me haven't been wronged.

I just saw Zootopia,
I am rather surprised by the ending though. Because of the internet I expected ... Darn you misleading fanarts everywhere ! Hmmyeah, it goes down in my top 50 animated movies, somewhere below Wreck-it-Ralph though, Or Wreck-it-Rhino for that matter. Though I am almost ashamed to admit that that part made me laugh... so corny.Friday, 07-Oct-16 12:31:03 UTC from web- pennyfortheguy likes this.
