@dewastl das *wird* bald groß hier, und nicht nur Quitter - Leute haben die Wahl aus ner Reihe v.Servern http://qttr.at/t4 :-) #Federation
-
if diaspora devs would really love #federation with other systems they'd........ support communication with others (not only between diaspora)
-
there needs to be only 1 thing: true 2-way communication, no one should be #forced to throw away his current favoured clients, but it seems #federation is not a prio :-(
-
if there would be R E A L #federation we'd not have a problem in the 1st place: "But we would lose followers because not everybody in #identi.ca created an additional StatusNet account after the migration." !ostatus https://lists.debian.org/debian-publicity/2013/10/msg00006.html

@coffeecream when I look on RDN's public timeline I see new local dents coming usually every minute, sometimes every few seconds. That's fast, and they're all from local users... There are also _hundreds_ of groups -- way awesome. RDN has most certainly more groups than the rest of the statusnet #federation together
-
being a quitter user i dont not advise people to leave other instance to move to Quitter. Statusnet should be a #balanced #Federation
-
@mattl > of some popular !GNUSocial instances. We should promote all of them (+maybe create more instances) to keep the #federation balanced
-
once it has the #federation part implemented the other networks will pump life into it again ;-)

@erkanyilmaz I don't want him to isolate himself an promote fragmentation... #federation
-
I see you want to inhale into his brain the #federation :-) https://twitter.com/liamzebedee/status/387909478856663040
-
OK: "One of the greatest things Evan really did with #statusnet was create the !ostatus protocol which allowed #federation between networks to happen"
-
some thoughts where I think others have "problems" with the concept of #federation http://federation.skilledtests.com/Aspects_of_federation.html#understanding_the_concept:_federation
-
RT @lnxw37@federati.net @liamzebedee #federation is not perfect, but it is the best thing we've got
-
RT @mbjunior #Federation does not follow " #advertising " logic nor does it #bow to media paradigms.
-
I can imagine #why people would NOT want it, of course. But they somehow #forget: when I type it in an online application/service it WILL appear in someone's #DB (be it your internet providers, NSA, the admin you trust on that server, ...). So, I would formulate your sentence different, not say against #federation, but: against creating online data
-
@jrobb @lnxw37 Yea, I can't keep up. (and kind of gave up) :/ #federation
-
Huh, I see people replying to @jrobb here. But, he doesn't show up in my time line. But, I see his side of the convo on Pump. #federation!

RT @kristalloptik This is crazy. #Pump.io just managed to kill my final post. Now I have to rewrite it. I'll make it short now, since I don't have the nerve to re-create it in it's entire form. I'm #leaving pump.io universe in favor of #Diaspora. Find me here: https://diasp.eu/u/kristalloptik if you still want to follow in the future. The transition from #StatusNet to pump.io has been a huge #drawback for the #OpenSource community. #Federation is still the biggest issue for all #decentralized social networks and I hope solutions can be found. But I for myself am choosing Diaspora as my home for now. It has been working ok and seen constant development for a pretty long time. Their transition from funded project to a #foundation seems to be moving forward fine too. I wish Evan well with his company. Hope to see you all once federating is solved and pump.io and Diaspora can talk to each other. :)
-
except that it works only with the pumpkinverse ;-) and I'm not running a node to tell how good it works RT Evan, 8th May: NOOOOOO. #Federation is much, much better with #pump.io. It works a lot better. Really.
-
Doesn't it make you wonder why I, normally supporting #federation, speak out against forwarding to twitter ?
-
the 2nd dent is to #help pump.io: I said it a few times: if Evan would have made the #federation part right from start public opinion would be more on his side, he still can influence it by #implementing
-
Hello, 1. companies: before people think #ads, ads, ads :-( I guess you mean something with that ? 2. Will making again #centralization bring us to the same problems as before-the-pump.io migration? Why not make sure that they understand #federation this time ? Perhaps our chance has come thx to #NSA in this regards?
-
btw it'd be good to make this also separate after different !language and when it's time for that: select another #SN server, so we foster the #federation more http://federation.skilledtests.com/select_your_server.html
-
Oh I get a decision some months ago to support a #system (in this case pump Where did io), which get many #problems, not only the #federation part, while #systems like statusnet or #friendica DO WORK? (btw: Python 2.0 was released 12 years, and 324 days ago)
-
still searching... RT @lnxw37@quitter.se @cwebber Thanks. I guess I won’t be installing it for #federation if it only goes to one network I use. http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/133091
-
Yeah, by supporting a system which doesn't support #federation with other systems. Go for it: "In this release #mediagoblin moves closer to federation by shifting our #oauth code to be pump.io compatible" http://mediagoblin.org/news/mediagoblin-0.5.0-goblin-force.html
-
@lnxw37 with 'both' I was referring to xmpp and private messaging; I've often said that #OStatus should be enabled by default #federation

new !fedConf group: meeting with friends from the #federation (e.g. about our meeting in #Brazil in 2014)
