  1. Es bonito ver a gente que le da vida a ordenadores viejos, es decir, ahora mismo un 486 es algo viejuno y necesitas disquetes y esas cosas. Es todo un acto de retro-informatica de algún modo. Estos chavales han realizado "Make the 486 Great Again!". Con # . Y la verdad es que estas cosas son bonitas. Merece la pena pelearse para meterle un GNU/Linux a esos viejos cacaharros y aunque luego no vas a poder hacer muchas cosas posiblemente si muchas otras. Si, una raspberry Pi consume menos.   3. just completed my first emerge --sync. I suppose I should have put a timer on it. It appears to be taking a while. Is there anything like yum-cron for # or is it just diy cron job? I assume just emerge --sync would work...how often "should" it be run? #

    That’s only alsa-lib, well, probably alsa-plugins, gst-plugins and alsa-utils, but none of them should require a large system update. Hmm, alsa-utils can, if they pull new major ncurses, but you can just not update it for the time being. Other packets shouldn’t require a new kernel or glib. Restarting alsasound won’t break your X session.

  17. El costo de la transformación, el debate que se está generando ahora con # sirve de excepcional caso para conocer de verdad la infraestructura que tiene detrás cada distribución.
    No ver a openSUSE con ninguna opción de poder instalar o tener un sistema sin systemd dice mucho. En cambio ver a # o a # que siguen incluso sin inmutarse te deja casi en ridículo.
    Lo que queda muy claro es que todo es manual o mejor dicho hecho en casa. Y sin perder la costumbre de poner alguna metáfora no se puede ir de hoteles o restaurantes diciendo que es lo más característico de cada zona, cuando lo real está en la calle, en las casas y en las familias mas sencillas, las verdaderas herederas culturales y todavía todo hecho a mano.
