Most towns here bear enough resemblance to one another that as I drive around the state, everywhere has a mildly familiar feel. Today, I turned a corner near my #hotel and instantly recognized that I'm just 2-3 miles from one of our smaller offices. It was such a great thing to know exactly where I am.

A newer, cleaner #hotel than the others (with one 5-day exception) that I've stayed in for the past seven weeks. It is amazing what a difference that makes.

Got a tip from Mark about a place that I might be able to stay for more than 2-3 nights at a time. I'm really tired of changing from one #hotel to the next one. And don't even get me started on #hotel_inet.

Changed from last night's #hotel because they gave me a smoking room. A previous occupant must have constantly had a cigarette burning. I think even smokers would grumble.

I have started looking for "Non-GMO" on the label of the #yogurt I buy. One well-known national brand admits in small print that they do use gene-spliced ingredients, so I've stopped buying that brand. For today's #YoCo, another national brand and a store brand with stir your own fruit. The #coffee is barely better than the #hotel stuff, but that happens when you're traveling.

@daw I hadn't noticed. No usable INET at the #hotel (too far from #hotel_wifi AP) so I haven't visited m'cast in a while. I should set up a client on the phone.

Been a long time since I had a #hotel room with a door connecting an adjoining room. Checked to make sure door is locked (it is). Learning to deal with the occupant's constant TV / media noise will be a bit ofa challenge.

Yes, I know, I can use #hotel_wifi, but it depends on the #hotel. At some, #hotel_inet is an extra charge (and then they limit speed and amount of data, so very much not worth paying for). In others, they may have zero-price access, but with a single access point in the center, with intermittent service to more distant rooms.

This #hotel put the temperature sensors for the thermostats above head level. Thermostat is set for 68°F. My bedside clock says 63°F. Air conditioner is still blowing too-cold air on me.

After work, I saw a vendor selling Jamaican jerk chicken. I called K, who also wanted some. So I dropped K's food off at his #hotel, then returned to my hotel and ate. Good.

@jonkulp You get that close to #alligators? http://url.federati.net/MH0fy There was one sitting next to the far corner of #hotel parking lot for a couple of weeks when I was in #BatonRouge. I cut that corner out of my daily afternoon walks. (Feeding #gators is not my thing.) Also, cool that #UnivOfLA has some untamed areas where wildlife can live.
