  4. I wish # was not # It is enough to ask me to visit a site to give you money without asking me to change browser settings to do so. And, no, I am not aware of an alternative that doesn't require # to even view the site, but if I was, I'd be more likely to support you through that site.

  12. @taknamay I wouldn't be surprised if there was some !tcltk (minus the Tk GUI) in the Space Shuttles. A lot of network equipment uses it. But I really don't see why # escaped the browser.

  13. @register another nail in the coffin of #, from yet more security exploits. Why do people continue to rely on it for websites?

  14. @kzimmermann I think we both know the answer. If we allow # complete control over our browsers, sites can use it for targeting and presenting advertising.

Since Qvitter doesn't output the profile as HTML (just a blank page which loads everything with #), I put it in <head><link ...>

Do you know if I can do h-card markup inside <head> or should I try to persuade @hannes2peer into accept outputting a (possibly hidden) h-card into <body>? (which increases load time before javascript kicks in, which is something I don't think he wants to change)

  29. I've looked at a lot, but I've now ended up with three new editors/IDEs installed: 1) KDevelop (pretty powerful but also feels complicated), 2) Brackets (in principle for only HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but plugins add a lot of support for PHP), 3) Aptana Studio (based on Eclipse, so not a lightweight, but it has excellent support for PHP, but apparently much less for CSS and JavaScript). I expect I'll mostly use the last two, in combination - both have Git support (Brackets through a plugin). # # # # #
