This is on my mind a lot because:
1: As of June, I don't have an income any more. So I worry. Of course I worry.
2: I do a lot of "invisible" stuff. Translating. Editing. Proofreading. Sharing. Theatre. Performances. I just feel like all the work I do is worthless because it's invisible to my followers on the internet. -

The Golden Gate Killer was nabbed through ancestry sites. The site wouldn't even have needed to know (and possibly didn't) that it was LE submitting the samples. So if you're thinking of signing up for one of these sites, keep in mind you're also signing up to be a suspect.
As far as we know, DNA evidence is pretty reliable, IF chain of custody is maintained, the sample isn't contaminated, the sample really comes from where they think/say it did, etc.

If you only care about decentralized publishing and temporal ordering and not making sure everyone sees every transaction to prevent double-spending, you don't need a blockchain. You can just use a dump truck like Usenet or BitMessage along with a set of witnesses that create timestamped signatures of hashes upon request.

This week alone, 4 dogs have been poisoned in a village near mine in Greece... and there is one that lives there, Danae, who I absolutely need to rescue from this danger. She is about 2 years old, fixed, ca 25kg, super friendly and playful.
If you know ANYONE who could either foster her or was hoping to adopt a dog: please, please get in touch with me!
I have to deal with a lot of heartbreak caring for Greek strays, but I cannot lose her. I cant take her myself, but will bring her to Germany/ Berlin. -
