Oh yeah. I need to talk about the new Steven. Bleh. Dear God, that was terrifying. The entire motif of the episode is excellent, and holy Potato Knishes, the forced gem fusions are basically necromorphs. The real stand-out component of this episode is the relationship between Connie and Connie's mother, which is believable. I couldn't tell you how many cartoons I've watched that half-demonize a character by blatantly ignoring their motives. I believed that Connie's mother actually wanted the best for Connie, instead of simply making Rose's sword off-limits for the sake of plot progression.
