    This whole "toasting without desiccating" idea is fascinating. Especially after I blew through a whole loaf of bread last week trying to get enough toasted-but-still-soft-enough-to-bite-through slices for 3 sandwiches....

    Is this another case of "easy 50 years ago but impossible now"?
