@coolboymew @mangeurdenuage The weirdest thing is that #Twitter in the early days was a hotbed of real discussions, despite not having any real conversational features built in. Over time, a combination of too-rapid growth and their changes to the site made it so that conversation is painful (and prone to attract angry extremists who flock into one's mentions and immediately mark the person as part of $OTHER_GROUP.
And that's where many of #Mastodon's angry extremists learned how to coordinate and attack, so they can be really brutal to the unprepared. -
I really do love my #SoloKeys and #eWBM #securitykey #fido2 #u2f #authenticator #usb #devices. I just wish #Twitter would support more than one.

Start a blog! Don't put your most important ideas directly into ( #corpocentric ) #socnets. Post them in your own blog, then link them on social sites.

Also, make sure your blog has #RSS and #Atom feeds! Let interested people know (in your social posts) that the most reliable way to know when you post something new on your blog is to install a feed reader and add your blog's feed to it. Otherwise, if they aren't looking at their #Twitter / #Facebook stream when you post (or if yours is one of the 60+% of posts that that network will hide from your contacts' streams), they won't see your post or even know it happened. -

Tried #MeWe quickly, but I particularly didn't like it's #walled #garden design. As well as, that stuff can't be public (so it's not a publishing platform) and especially the fact, that they always require user to register to see ANY content. That's what I've so deeply hated with so many services. Even #Twitter has been doing that lately, and it's utterly enraging. #googleplusrefugee I've also checked out #diaspora and #mastodon again in detail, and well, there are just so many rough spots on these #federated #networks too. And no easy way of fixing those.

- highlight the anti-capitalist values of the fediverse
- expand on the beauty of federation and free software
