I've done some research on support for #OStatus, results here, corrections welcome before I update the #Wikipedia page

@tregeagle Tim Harford! Yes, that was the fellow I was thinking of. I need to plug an external hard drive into the bit of my brain that remembers names. Oh wait; that's #Wikipedia.

@lyskar #Wikipedia editors are not the #Borg. I edit #Wikipedia. Most of us are familiar with the concept of testing against reality

@rw your one on #Mastodon and Mastodon (software) on #Wikipedia. Reference may have been put back in. I may have started an edit war :0

It's really weird trying to convince the #Wikipedia #deletionist that #Mastodon users can follow #GS users and vice-versa.

@maiyannah can you think of a "secondary source" for that information? Still duking it out with that #deletionist on #Wikipedia ;)

While we're at it, the #Wikipedia page on #OStatus could do with some serious updating too

Today, for the first time, I found myself in an edit war on #Wikipedia! It's like a weird online role-playing game ;P I'm restraining myself

From today's "Did you know" at #Wikipedia:
»Did you know that Tommy Tucker, a male pet squirrel wearing women's clothes (pictured), became famous during World War II, selling war bonds and entertaining children?»

The #Wikipedia #deletionists were the biggest complaint we had during a Q&A session in 2011 with then-Executive Director Sue Gardner. Nothing got changed, a Toronto Wikipedia users chapter was never set up, and shortly afterwards the Wikipedians mailing list was cancelled in favour of (Yahoo or Google) groups. I was never very active on Wikipedia, but after this even less so. https://www.flickr.com/photos/laurelrusswurm/albums/72157650655305999

@strypey I believe the #deletionists undermine the value of #Wikipedia. I've read some pretty bruising threads on to-be-deleted articles. It seems that deletionists also chase away (potential) contributors.
