@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Anyone here a really generous organ donor?
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Alrighty. Hopefully this'll work. So we're aiming for meetin' at 3:00 at the Vancouver Library. Bring $5-$10. Where specifically is this room again? Have we got snacks being supplied somehow?
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Well then hold off until we're absolutely, positively sure. Just another day at least.
-
@fisherpon !bcbronies When we have it all planned. The Fan Expo schedule just got released, and we're in talks with our potential guest about his best time. We know it's at a conference room at the library, though, and at this rate it looks like we'll be sticking with the max capacity of 60 people. @thepuzzldpirate It's lookin' like that's our safest bet. Most of us are probably not going to use the room for the whole time, but I guess the people who aren't going to the Expo might be able to hang out in it until the rental's done.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies I think you once mentioned the room having speakers. Do we know if this is the case? Thanks for setting up the room, by the way. So, chairs aren't provided? Are we going to somehow figure out our own seating arrangement, or is there a way to rent them, or would we just all sit on the floor or stand the whole time? Anyone who wants to add the episode to their computer on the Saturday and bring their laptop or extra cables can feel free to (just to be safe in case there are issues), but bear in mind any security or convenience issues that might be associated with bringing your own computer.
-
@echron1000 !bcbronies That's the plan and is a large part of why we're holding this later in the day, to give us time to get a good-quality download. @thepuzzldpirate Alright, cool.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Excellent. And that's what we're doing the poll for. Ordered music? Do you mean you paid for the speaker system? Because we'll likely need that anyway, we only have the projector I think. What's the capacity when the wall's out? Also, are there seats built in?
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Which library room were you going for again? @tequilasunrise How's the count lookin'?
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies tomorrow or the next day I mean, ha ha
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies: sent for one online, hopefully I will be called by today or tommorow.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies 5-9 to be safest I guess
-
!bcbronies Just to sum up the details of the current plan: @thepuzzldpirate is Reserving one of the 60-person conference rooms at the Vancouver Library. We're interested in hearing about what kind of turnout we can expect, so if anyone can make a poll so we can get a good number, that would be appreciated. To avoid conflict with Fan Expo scheduling, we're currently aiming for a viewing on the night of Saturday the 21st. Since the con ends that day at 7PM, this will likely start at 8PM. Once Fan Expo has a schedule up, we may reschedule for some time in the early afternoon, though some people may need to sacrifice seeing some panels to meet for this this finale. We'll discuss that when the time arrives. For now, though, tentative 8PM. We are trying to contact Daniel Ingram regarding his schedule, as he's shown interest. We will gladly rearrange this based on his schedule if need be.

@echron1000 !bcbronies Then I think it's safer to go for the library. Did you get anything from Ingram regarding his schedule? @thepuzzldpirate Does the library also need a week's notice before rental, or is it more or less than Metrotown?
-
@echron1000 @thepuzzldpirate The library's downtown at West Georgia and Homer.
-
@thepuzzldpirate he is replying, to me, what are our locations we got where is the library and I will give the metro town info because we are discussing it atm
-
@thepuzzldpirate There's no guarantee that he will. Did you talk to him on Twitter?
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Though, this all does depend on the scheduling still. If nothing that great is going on between like 12 and 1:30, we could totally set it up for a lunchtime thing. People might need to sacrifice attending a panel or two though, which is why until the schedule's posted, I think planning it for after everything is the best tentative schedule.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies I wasn't talking about catching it live. As I've been saying, I've been trying to plan this for after the convention's done for the day, so as to avoid scheduling conflicts. Unfortunately, the team running Fan Expo still doesn't have the schedule up, meaning it's harder for us to plan our stuff around it.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies If I'm not mistaken, it's like a 20-minute walk from the convention centre. I am a bit concerned about the tight timing for the islanders afterwards, though. How far away is wherever the ferry terminal is?
-
@thepuzzldpirate ok well the place we found seats 55 for like 110 instead of 150
-
@thepuzzldpirate Conversely, actually, I use Facebook much more than Twitter (which I can hardly function on). I told him the tentative plan (planning around Fan Expo) is to use one of the library's conference rooms and meet around 8:00 on the Saturday, though I said that if another time would be better, let any of us know over FB, Twitter, or here.
-
@thepuzzldpirate ...I gathered info and made discisions at the meet on saturday when this stuff came to my attention
-
@echron1000 I hope you can cool of, and I again apologize for how poorly the laser tag went. RDNet suddenly stopped giving me updates that week, so I couldn't help it. @thepuzzldpirate !bcbronies Is this the big ol' coliseum Vancouver Library? How do you book rooms, is it online? What hours is it available? How big's the space? Is the internet any good? (Sorry about the barrage of questions)
-
@thepuzzldpirate !vancouverbronies 1.Find out when Daniel Ingram is available, no point setting up stuff if he isn't able to attend. 2. find a big enough space, if we have to have tickets and not have enough room, we are doing it wrong. The library conference rooms offer rooms for 60 for 200$ for 4 hours. If Daniel Ingram name is strong enough, we would achieve that and more. 3.find out what we need. Like I said, I don't know if Daniel wants to watch it live. if he does we will need a space that offers internet(library does),audio equipment(library does) and probably a projector(not sure if library does). Projectors are about 100$ for rental which means at the library it would about $350, $320 if we watch it later. These are answers we need by the end of the week. Worry about these first.
-
@echron1000 Take a deep breath. :) We'll have the money either way. @thepuzzldpirate said he'd be willing to cover any shortfall, and I'm willing to put in extra if necessary too.
-
@thepuzzldpirate would you mind taking this down, I would prefer people to pay for themselves if they really want to go not rely on others
-
@thepuzzldpirate !vancouverbronies I was looking at VPL - the smaller rooms (~60 people) are about $200 for 4 hours and it would be another $50 for a TV (doesn't say how big): http://www.vpl.ca/rooms/pdf/2012_LSCCrates.pdf
-
@thepuzzldpirate !vancouverbronies Hmm. We need a place that can accommodate a fair number of people with a reasonably large TV that we can plug a laptop or whatever into. Anyone?
-
!bcbronies welcome to the island @mrphil hopefully we can fish out some of the bronies here cause i know very few of them. and @thepuzzldpirate i made my fake account and am called Scoot Aloo so lets do this thing :)
