  2. Hey, !vancouverbronies . Just got back from a solstice party. My mother and all her witchy friends like to get together and drink homemade maple mead and burn papayas, and they brought me and Flashpoint along for musical accompaniment. It was pretty cool, but the best part was my solstice gift from my mother. She got me a Mare-Do-Well poster, which now holds a place of honour above my bed. In other news, there is a brony meetup in Seattle on January 8 which I am hoping to attend. Perhaps we could make an event of it, and a bunch of us take the train down together? Trains are fun. According to my research, for a round trip from here to Seattle would be just over $100. The bus would be around $80, but I think the extra is worth it for a train ride, wouldn't you say? Buses are smelly.

  4. !vancouverbronies @carmle I believe I promised unto you the greatest of all the instruments, the Cowbell.

  5. !vancouverbronies @asvendius @andranator2 Well, that was fun. Never thought I'd pass out on somepony's couch with my ponies. My familial units were surprisingly forgiving. Ice skating would be pretty rad, me and Flashpoint would be down. Now, to see if he'd be allowed on the ice... :P. I've discussed the possibility of a jam meetup with my mother, and she's agreeable. I have a sizable basement jam area with a bananasty drum kit, three guitars, two ukuleles, a bass, and a variety of handheld percussion instruments. Such an event would be held shortly after the new year. No musical talent required, just a willingness to make a fool of yourself with all your bronies. :D

  6. @garyoak Just remembered: Wasn't able to find my drummer. Dude's probably stoned at the Long & McQuade messing around on the electric kits. :P I hope we can hang sometime in the future!

  7. !vancouverbronies Hey guys, I got my SG today! It is beautiful and the sound is amazing and it NEEDS A NAME. I have a thing about naming instruments. Any suggestions welcome! @maxig I'm planning a jam meetup sometime just after the new year, which should be awesome. @underdogbassist I facehoofed at that pun. I friggin' love my ubass, and I play it all the time. Here's my cover of Nice and Sleazy by the Stranglers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TWrJEWDij4& Bringing the drum kit tomorrow might be a bit much, I think I'll stick with the guitar for now. Also my kit is a piece of crap. :P @tequilasunrise Awesome, I'll bring it then. The world needs more bassists. @noise WELCOME TO THE HERD!

  8. @underdogbassist @tylendal !vancouverbronies This looks to be shaping into a brony jam session. Soo awesome! /rainbow. I have a 6-piece drum kit, but no real way of getting it out there unless I strap it to my bike and haul it out (which I have done before). A jam at my place would bring the possibility of drums, so perhaps a future meetup idea? @tequilasunrise Dude, don't sweat it. Even if you just hit the bass notes, jamming is always a blast. Hell, I might bring my bass as well if you want to try it. It's not heavy, it's one of these... http://www.ukeladymusic.com/store/images/kala-ubass.JPG . @garyoak I *might* be able to help you. The drummer in my band has a place in town, and might have a couch for you. No promises, as he's kinda hard to get in contact with, but I'll try. @tigerdusk I used to live out east, North York area. Not a bad city, but I do prefer my native BC.

  9. @underdogbassist !vancouverbronies I'm more of a blues and rock guitarist, but I could probably do jazz, sure. Jamming is always fun. Make sure you brush up on your pony songs!

  10. @garyoak !vancouverbronies You can say that again XD. I have awesome news! You bronies going to the meetup will be in for a treat, because I'm bringing my new toy, which I will be picking up on Saturday. One of these... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMCuGwefhgY \m/ BUCK YEAH.

  11. !vancouverbronies I hang out in wierd parts of the internet. Specifically a pony-focused IRC channel. The other night, I showed them a video of a 60's band called the Applejacks, and they challenged me to find bands for the rest of the Mane Six. So I did. Here they are: AJ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO8VJwlwCQY . Twilight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnwTzxCzDgM . Rarity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWPgoaI-9mQ . Pinkie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIppzQRPtzg. Fluttershy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISNe9LCLOn8 . The easiest was Rainbow Dash, as I already knew (and loved) the obvious choice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttnFl1Dn_nI . I hope you manage to derive some mild amusement from this pointless exercise. :P

  12. @garyoak !vancouverbronies I would suggest meeting at a station at the approximate centre of the system, perhaps Granville due to the convergence of the Millenium and Canada Lines. There's a big ol' piece of steel installation art outside of the Canada Line station that would be useful as a landmark. As to gary's request for a place to crash: I'm always on the lookout for a chance to help my bros, however mother may not be terribly thrilled with some dude she doesn't know sleeping on her couch. Sorry, man.

  13. @andranator2 If @pinhooves isn't able to draw something, I'd be willing to take a shot at it. I haven't been drawing long, but I could try. Here are my feeble attempts to date: http://vorpalbob.deviantart.com/gallery/ . Looking forward to the !vancouverbronies meetup on the 18th!

  14. Hey !vancouverbronies I just returned from recording my second "On a bicycle" video. It went... okay. There were some audio glitches that I tried really hard to fix, but here ya go anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TljQLKAfjCE&feature=channel_video_title

  15. @andranator2 I'm going to be heading down to the Burrard Bridge sometime around 3, and I'll be doing a few takes so I'll probably be there until around 3:30. After which I plan on going to Toys r us and buying ponies (because I have none :( ).

  16. !vancouverbronies @jackzhang I had toyed around with the idea of having a camera grip follow us around on rollerblades or something, but I dismissed it as my usual artistic optimism/insanity (whichever you prefer). Doing a huge WWU sing-along is an awesome idea, and I will happily donate any and all of my instruments to such a cause. I have a lot. @tigerdusk Considering my original plan for getting there was taking the Skytrain to Surrey and then cycling the rest of the way, through snow and ice, meeting some folks for transit sounds good. :P

  17. Hey, !vancouverbronies. I just checked the weather forecast, and Sunday is going to be the warmest it will be for the next little while, so I'm planning on filming another video. My bro Waffles may be joining me on bass this time, if he can handle his bike well enough. After we film we'll probably go get some food, so if anyone wants to hang, I'll work out a time to meet downtown. If you haven't seen my first video, here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv4FCfKiZKc& . Me and Waffles will most likely be doing Equestria Girls this time, so it should be fun.

  19. @pinhooves Glad to be a part of it. I came here by way of a friend of mine, but I'm mainly a part of the Giant in the Playground brony community.

  20. Hey, !vancouverbronies ! I'm new to these parts, but hoping to find some chill bro(nie)s to hang with. You may have seen my video in EqD's Nightly Roundup from Monday night, number 171. Anyway, glad I found this community, and I hope to be seeing you ponies sometime soon.
