Cool. Cool. Another bomb from WW2 has been found in my city and the planned defusing of that bomb is in a few weeks. Need to prepare for an evacuation, mostly for my mother as she lives in the evacuation zone. At the edge of it but everyone has to leave that zone for the whole time (about 6 hours).

@scribus i noticed not only this but also the usage (or implied/cut off usage) of offensive words for shock comedy has also been back on the rise since wound 2021 or 2022, and very little complaints about it unlike before. Not certain what the cause of he change in attitudes was.

Decided to start working my way through the Yakuza spin-off games now that I’ve beaten the main series. First up is Dead Souls, which despite its reputation and the clumsy shooting I am shockingly enjoying a lot. Probably helps that it’s really just Yakuza 4 with a zombie skin so all of the mini games I liked from that one are in here.

In Yakuza 7, there’s a particular endgame boss with a one-hit KO move that you need to prep for in advance by using one of Ichiban’s defense moves to tank the hit. I did not know this until after the fight was over, because he attempted it once on my healer, missed, and then apparently got embarrassed because he never tried to use it again after that.

@zeldatra You were so lucky. I had to fight that boss probably a dozen times. I had to switch up my whole party because of him. Without I couldn't get over that difficulty spike.

@adiwan with that longass dungeon just before the fight, if I had to go back and change ANYTHING about my party I’d have probably just rage quit and not come back to the game for a couple of days.

@zeldatra People were always handing out cigars on TV back in the 80s, but it was usually for a new baby or some kind of class warfare power play thing.

So Disney produces a Buffy sequel audio series that sets out to right the wrongs and address the treatment of characters like Cordelia and Tara, who were written off of Angel and Buffy because their actresses wouldn’t sleep with Joss Whedon… but makes Spike the main character? That seems a bit like you’re missing your own point there.

I think a lot about how this stuff would sound dubbed into other languages. For Mo specifically it’s hard to imagine the character working in not English, but that’s also mostly because French by a non-native speaker probably sounds the same to me as ordinary French.

Kind of wish Twitter would stop showing me dead bodies. I don’t mean to whine but it seems like Twitter is super excited to show me dead bodies. I saw one at work last month and quite frankly it put me off from having to ever see it again.
