Bought 275 rounds of 9mm irl and was so suddenly happy that ammo has no weight in Fallout

Wow, talk about a throwback. Hi RDN, you probably don't remember me XD
about 4 months ago from web-
@pandaexpress Around that long yeah, glad to hear it came around for you in the end.
I've been pretty well all around. 2017 was kind of a mess but other than that, there have been a lot more upsides than downsides. Some losses sure, but death is unavoidable, all that is within my control ticks under my rythm and that's all that matters to say life is good.
Made a lot of friends, got new certifications and a different job, dropped my ex and had a lot of fun these last 8 years. All I can possibly complain of right now is that the stock market is not as good as I'd wish lol.Emily likes this. -
@awl A whole lot better than I was last we met. You?

@pandaexpress much the same. Purpose in life does wonders for a person.

The backpack I'm using for over 15 years is still holding well enough but I feel like I've grown out of it. It was fine for a good while but my use-case has shifted dramatically. Nowadays I use it for holding all my bike stuff and for some emergency storage whenever my shopped items don't fit in my bags. The stuff I have in my backpack right now gets more in the way lately because the items are oddly shaped for the compartments they are. A poncho, umbrella, small first-aid kit, repair tools, hand pump, tote bags, paper tissues, N95-masks, pens. I wish I could sew one myself.
about 5 months ago from web-
@awl I use my backpack almost exclusively when I use my bike. So my needs are pretty much the same all the time. On good weather days I don't need to carry an umbrella or poncho but they will be definitely not there when I actually need them if I don't have it always packed. I hope I don't overpack. I was once thinking about carrying a set of new chain and hoses but these might be overkill as I would need more time to fix that than to push the bike back home.
-
@adiwan hydraulic brakes? If so man that’s kind of higher end
-
@awl I just have good ol' ordinary rim brakes that are attached to a bowden tube. Also my hub gearing brakes when backpedaling.

Did anybody get to see the recent aurorae?
about 8 months ago from web-
@awl Envy, lol. They were supposedly vivible from about an hour away from my house, but I didn't trust that I would be the only one making the drive, kinda expected a horde of headlights to drown it out :-/
-
@scribus yeah you’re far enough down south people would lose their banana over it. I had seen them off the north shore last two years living in the car.

@scribus AURORA BORABALIS?

-
@nerthos i've been since msay, but i will go to france again in the end of november, for the last time finally
-
@scribus I would still go on an RDN roadtrip no questions asked, even though I'd probably have to shoot someone a few hours in at this point. Bonus points for a certain someone, in his own words, wanting to hit me with a wrench but 100% not brave enough to actually try if in the same room.
You're cool though, so we can eat fries after the fights die down.

I say, considering USA's COVID response, we should start a nationwide campaign informing people of the dangers of putting their junk in a blender (or vice versa), just to see what happens

I’m beginning to consider the idea that maybe I have coronavirus but all it’s doing to me is giving me a cold. It’s been around 6-10 days since I was possibly exposed to it by an elderly customer who maybe got it in Arlington (never did figure out who it was and if they were even in the store), and I’ve been dealing with cold symptoms for a few days now. No fever yet, though, and my cough was exceptionally minor and is gone today. Hopefully if that’s the case I didn’t get anyone sick, I was careful to make sure I was sanitizing everything in my cough radius just in case.
Thursday, 19-Mar-20 19:28:25 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation I thought the same until I had a fevre this morning. So now I’m self-quarantining.
-
@awl I’m ready to do the same if I have to.
-
-
Seriously, I exist in a constant state of readiness to draw blood if someone GIYF's me. I have actually ended a friendship for it ('course, it was a friendship with a guy in prison for attempted matricide, so maybe that was just the excuse lol)

@scribus a former co-worker of mine said this a lot. An automotive technician who relied on Youtube. It became a growing trend at that shop so I had to leave basically.
-
@awl Well, that's about as distressing as it is unsurprising. I mean, I've used YT for my auto repairs, but I never claimed to be a professional.
