I like programming in Python, but I’m super skilled with ANSI and POSIX C.
Dream: Be like SoGreatandPowerful.

@metaltao No worries, jus' reading mah to-do list. Or am I?
-
open("/home/caret7/todo.txt", O_RDONLY);
-
@metaltao I would be honored.
-
@loveydoe Very good
-
@metaltao The cold plucks of a shimasen echoed through the halls of Cheddar's court. She doodled another happy horse onto the throne's armrest. Then, the vaulted ceiling burst.

@emergeddragon7 Pony Psychology Series is a great fic. http://rainbowdash.net/url/769207
-
@nicklecat The iPad version is free, and Ascension is truly more fair than Magic. More fun also, in my opinion.
-
@emergeddragon7 Welcome!

@randomwonderbolt What about Princess Luna briefing the royal guard on a mission for the first time in 1000 years? Royal capslock

@randomwonderbolt Thanks!

@mrmattimation I think it has a certain "western cartoon" fabulousness. Nice work :)

@randomwonderbolt Good call! I totally forgot her tail :D

I drew a Fluttershy. Criticism is appreciated http://rainbowdash.net/url/769173

@loveydoe Good night
-
@metaltao It's all right, but I wouldn't use it. I prefer Unixlike stuff such as Linux and Plan 9
-
What operating system do you guys use? gNewSense here
-
@loveydoe And for those looking for a harder language, here's the ANSI C bible: http://rainbowdash.net/url/769143

A wheel eternal / spoked in diamonds and sunpearls. / So vast the blue sea!

@metaltao "Fellow man! Your whole life, like a sandglass, will always be reversed and will ever run out again, - a long minute of time will elapse until all those conditions out of which you were evolved return in the wheel of the cosmic process. And then you will find every pain and every pleasure, every friend and every enemy, every hope and every error, every blade of grass and every ray of sunshine once more, and the whole fabric of things which make up your life."
-
@metaltao What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine.' -Nietzche
-
@metaltao Hi MetalTao!
-
@loveydoe You must be the artistic Socrates that Nietzche talked about.

@caret7 sorry, the above message was directed at @broniebrown
-
Have you seen Communicating Sequential Processes? It lets a programmer send data between predictably-scheduled "threads" without fiddling with mutexes and semaphores. http://swtch.com/libtask/
-
@broniebrown I usually program with the goal that a program should be as simple as possible to work, but nothing more. What was the MPI for?
-
@metaltao Quick, before you get roped into other things... http://golang.org/ :-)
-
@broniebrown I prefer C. But for object oriented programming, C++ is okay.
-
@metaltao HTML5 is better than the other HTML standards, in my opinion. However, I have a generally low opinion of all Web protocols and encodings. I think it'd be cool if web apps were replaced with actual programs, run via a virtual machine. (see Inferno VM)
