@mrmattimation I like how in S4, they make Twilight just a bit taller than the other mane 6 characters. It's sort of a nod to the fandom. That, along with Rainbow's acknowledgement of it in the episode you're watching.

@mrmattimation You're...missing a valid point. Hasbro's execs actually look at fan art and save it for reference toward what appeals to us. It's what caused EQG to happen at all. That has been documented by the writers themselves.

@ellistia Tell that to the theater filled with 98% bronies I saw the film with who paid money *both days* to view it and all loved every second of it. Just because you see a few angry comment threads online doesn't mean "everyone hates it"...Overall, it was well-received and people paid money to see it.

@clayinthecarpet No, they do not. Hasbro employees are actually /contractually embargoed/ against partaking of fan created material so as to provide deniability if a fan created concept appears in published material and someone gets lawsuit happy.

@clayinthecarpet he means that they don't look at fan stuff because they don't want legal trouble if they put some ideas from it into the show. Yes, it sounds absurd, but legal stuff is absurd by default.

@cinnamonswirl You're misunderstanding my point. I'm not telling ANYONE HERE that the writers read fanfics. I'm telling you that Hasbro execs came to the writers of MLP with a folder full of humanized fan art of ponies and presented the idea for a movie to them by turning the ponies into human-like things to sell dolls.
