            @zeldatra The Xserve was on sale up to 2011, so a top or even mid-range one would still be perfectly serviceable today. A pair of quad-core 3.3ghz Xeons and 48gb of RAM is nothing to sniff at.

                  @therainbowdashx When I have a real job after my studies I'll buy a server mainboard such that I can plug in 128GB RAM and set up a RAM-disk so every program I have installed is also in the RAM. Every application would run super fast!
