@zennx [Jerry Seinfeld mode engaged] And you know why they would make bad (vice) presidents ? Ever had to make a really hard decision ? It's a really warm spot to be in those shoes. Remember what happens to wax when it gets a little bit too warm ? I mean Cmoaaaaan.
-
@colfax ... FrankerZing sold !!! :D
-
@colfax Pretty sure the presidential candidates I remember the name of all have the potential of being target of a presidential assassination. heck all past and future presidents probably are/were. Exceptions may be there for George W Bush and Don Quayle, their level of intelligence could probably be met by Madame Tussauds level craftmanship.

It's 22:45 and I have the option to A "go to bed" B "Play some PlanetSide 2" ... Hmm...
-
@scribus In short, they have a hate-papaya against eBay.
-
@zennx It is indeed still funny :D
-
@taknamay Electro-engine, pretty sure it is responsible for lowering and raising the anchor seen as it is on a sail-ship. You normally use some heat-shrink to prevent short circuits ( possibly by completely covering all conductors with it, and then punch a hole though the hole-area. leaving it fully sealed off, with a what I like to call a "sloppy sock" )... However heat-shrink does not really work at 5 degrees below freezing... I would be VERY worries about arcing, but I am not a boat-technician or even an electrician.
-
@adiwan No, but Flat Earthers do like to point to Discworld and say things like "and that is why they silenced him" ... Sources : experience/exposure. It is actually kinda funny.
-
@scribus As long as you're having fun :) ... speaking of pokemon, I have both X and Omega Ruby doing nothing but collecting dust... hmm
-
... This looks safe ... http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/839772

@polarbeariii I actually quite like that, kudo's on your choices. I was going in expecting some heterochromia stuff and bright orange and blue or maybe green hues overall. I guess I spilled the beans on what I find very offputting here. You can blame the local fursuiters for that one.
-
@zennx Why the hell would I want to have Kel Tuzad's chestpiece ? Downing a raidboss made for lvl 80's when you are level 100 ( 3 expansions ago I think ? ) is probably not good for anything but "the looks" ( transmogrification sets ). Not saying I am still doing that, but I can totally get behind one's motivation for those still playing. ( I stopped playing WoW, again, the next expansion I might not even come back at all, So sad you can't buy less than a month of playing time )
Disclaimer : Not even sure if Kel Thuzad even drops a chestpiece -
@scribus I never really understood the "need shinies !" rage. Although I do understand the "need max IV/EV pokemon" or "I just need to kill Kel Tuzad 50 more times before I get my epicly awesome looking chestpiece". Is that weird ?

I am now the proud owner of this device ( Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 ) . flea-markets rule. As for what I'm going to do with it, ehmm, I might start with some Descent 3 I guess ? ... Are there any recent games with Force Feedback really worth playing ? http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/839753

@redenchilada I used to do some cooperative scenario-play 0.0.3.0 ( stable ) with voip and some Dutch Bronies. Stuff was bonkersly fun :)
-
@polarbeariii that'll do as a doomsday threat, yes. Have some pictures of what you want/ordered ?
-
@mrmattimation I wanna see you trying to punt the barf
-
@bigpony I'd say so, yes, but not enough to sway me to buy one in the least. Maybe if Nintendo properly advertised the thing, and not left the majority of the old Wii userbase ( and casualbase ) with the false impression that the WiiU is just a tablet-extention for the Wii there would have been way better support for the thing, Games&DLC would not be so expensive, library would have been more broad and established... You know, "what if" scenario's :)
Currently though, personal opinion favours the PS2 over the WiiU. -
@bigpony Hmm, yes I know the problem. Although mine resolves around ther gamer inside of me wanting a WiiU but the Vulkan inside of me overrationalizing that it only has 1 really good game with loads of replayability which has too much anticonsumer DLC practices. I have high hopes for the NX though.
Also, shareing is careing. Well done :) -
@polarbeariii Something like this is usually phrased after the doomsday satellites have been aligned, or the process of terrafreezing the planet can begin. Howlong do we have ?
-
@bigpony Gonna play a game together ?
-
@nerthos I'm afraid that the actual number would be closer to a billion in a couple of years. And with numbers of that magnitude you can be sure there will be riots and collateral damage.
Let us just agree that it is probably not a good idea to implement such rules on Earth. However I heard that Ganymede is lovely this time of the year -
@mrmattimation In the Netherlands you are pretty much allowed to do what you want to do, as long as there are at least 2 of the 3 parts bright-alarm-orange. "Muzzle" "slide" "magazine, clip, or feeding mechanism". Also the muzzle should be comically sized... Pretty sure those laws are pretty much universally the same in the western world.
-
@nerthos So there have to be a set of rules, or guidelines, to tell you what is acceptable and whatnot. And who would uphold this book of rules ?
Or would you rather have public hearings whenever something is said to be out of bound, creating something like a "the elder has spoken !" moment. Although I am sure that something like this was done under the SPQR banner. ... Then you would need some universally feared and centrally organized army though. -
@nerthos The problem I'm having is not that there are intelligence agencies like the NSA, CIA, SIGN, or AIVD at all. I think it is a govnerment's duty to protect it's citizens from any and all factors that may harm any form of what a country holds dear. As such I expect a govnerment to at least provide some protection against domestic and forgein terrorism and/or acts of war.
However as that article points out ... ... Let's do a segue, when cooking spaghetti it is a tradition to take 1 wisp of spaghetti and throw it on a tile wall, if it sticks, then it is well done. ( I am saying tradition, not sure if it actually works and is foolproof, but it seems to be ) ... What is currently happening in the USA is they seem to be throwing the entire kitchen block against the wall to see what sticks. This is worrysome because some things are going to stick which are not indicative of a problem at all, parts of the deep frier will stick to a wall, but there is nothing wrong with said appliance -
@nerthos Our advances in Math, Science, Medical Science, our current technology, and capitalism. Only one of those 5 I do not really give a damn about.
-
@nerthos That should be a ground-rule. being allowed to defend your honor and integrity and posessions. Like if a burglar came into my house and tried to steal my stuff I should not be handcuffed when the police show up because I broke his jaw.
However that opens pandora's box into so called "honor killings". The Dutch police force had to be schooled to deal with these cases for reasons which have fled my mind. Basically if a woman was raped, declined an arranged marriage, or somehow else brought shame onto her own family, her family would have to see her expunged from the family tree. This is a practice hugely associated with the Middle East and South Asia. ( and not only exclusive to woman, I am pretty sure that a you can bring dishonour on your family as a boy when you break the tradition of winning the 4th grade math showdown or something. ) ... ... I am suddenly afraid of your world now. -
@nerthos "You start !" "No you !" "MOOOOM ! Billy keeps touching my side of the backseat !" dad:"Do not make me have to stop this car !"
We would need to change so many socially structured underlying versions of what is deemed "normal & acceptable & expected behaviour". But, I'd be all in favour. I just hope it is all sustainable. ... I am afraid that one could argue that ISIS/Daesh currently has such a system mixed in with a little tyranical iron grip of whomever holds the most guns. -
@nerthos ... ... ... I kinda like your version of an ideal world, even if it is really "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"-based. I wonder howlong it would take to have a stable region with anarchistic ideal's like that.
Back to BBBBD. Firstly I have NO clue how to have any say in what ends up in BBBBD. Secondly I just read http://www.zdnet.com/article/nsa-whistleblower-overwhelmed-with-data-ineffective/ ... So they seem to be doing just that what you propose without any of our intervention. So, are we winning yet ? ... Maybe ? ... It seems 50 billion hues of grey to me.
