@scribus They didn’t pay us for Juneteenth either despite Congress having made it a federal holiday and The President having signed the bill the week before. Said it was “too late” to change payroll, which is BS.

don’t really see the point in a Nickelodeon crossover fighter if you aren’t gonna have VO. Makes the crossover aspect feel hollow if these cartoon characters are all mutes without personalities. Just play Smash Bros. at that point.

@scribus I made a video about this last year, but the basic gist of it was that John K. was fired so early into the show’s initial run that it kind of wasn’t even his show anymore by the time the original series ended, so I personally don’t think R&S should necessarily carry his baggage, especially since we don’t really apply that same standard to more recent works with creators who were disgraced for similar reasons (The Loud House got a movie this year, even). https://youtu.be/1bVrf7n_Yek

@zeldatra That makes some sense. I never watched it, growing up, or really at all, so I know pretty much zilch on the topic directly. Mostly just aware that separating the achievement from the achiever is always thorny; for example, slave-owners who wrote a legal document that said "all men are created equal."

Just got done driving to Henrico County and during the drive I was trying to come up with a voice for a character. Eventually settled on “Genie from Aladdin but voiced by Dan Castellaneta”, which I realize is basically just a gay, possibly Jewish version of Homer Simpson.

@zeldatra @scribus The number of cases are rising here as well and I don't want to risk any contact with strangers that's not necessary, especially when sitting in an enclosed room for hours. I'm vaccinated but still. This time I'll probably go to the sea that is called Internet and become a filthy pirate. I already gave more money than necessary for watching Black Widow at home.

all of this moving around between stores finally pays off - I finally have the evidence I need to have a certain customer banned from all of our stores because I personally saw him running the same scam at three separate stores. kinda weird that it took three separate stores though, right?

thinking about buying the cheapest Mac Mini and using that for animation instead of my current PC. I don't believe it would be better (or worse, for that matter) in terms of performance, because let's be real, you don't need a beefcake to run Flash, but i do think it would help with productivity because I would have to switch to my other computer to run any of my games and so that's one less thing to get distracted by.

@scribus thought about doing a dual-boot but they don’t make macOS graphics drivers for my hardware, and Adobe Animate won’t run natively on Linux, so it would be more trouble than it’s worth.

@scribus the same guy’s been recording our phone messages at the store for years and he does the entire district, and they don’t re-record unless they absolutely have to, so up until the covid pandemic (they had to re-record at that point and a couple of times after as new information came out) one store would have an answer menu with a voice that’s audibly years younger than another.

one of the main characters in Swole Foods is a “Californian” (he lived there for six years and has made it his entire identity) but I’ve never lived in California, I only know what I see on the news, so some of these jokes might seem inaccurate to people who actually live there, which I think is pretty fair considering Hollywood directors seem to think Virginia is still a part of the confederacy.

i put "Jon Lovitz" in the cast list so here's the plot for the darker and edgier Krusty the Clown spinoff that I just made up right now: Krusty's show is taken off the air and in an attempt to revitalize his career, he hires a new publicist, who happens to be none other than Artie Ziff. Meanwhile, due to good behavior, Sideshow Bob is paroled, and Krusty reluctantly lets him live in his mansion because he has nowhere else to go.

@ceruleanspark From what I've seen is big and sturdy. But I can only say that as an opinion without much insight and experience with big LEGO builds. I want it but I am aware that these sets are luxuriously expensive. I rather buy new Winter tyres for that kind of money.

@adiwan Gherkins was one of the first-gen models from the AOTC era, so it's entirely possible they've made the design slightly less likely to just explode on contact with a stiff breeze.

@scribus i dunno but personally i think making fun of gluten allergies is much, much lower on the list of things i'd object to than, say, paying a random generic black guy to pretend to be Barack Obama, which disney channel also loved doing at the time.

So I’ve got kind of a conundrum, I think I may have done something a little inappropriate. After I got transferred out of my store, I left my discord & such for some of the employees who were around my age in case they ever wanted to chat since I wasn’t going to be working it’s any of them anymore and I thought some of them were pretty cool. One of them was about 19, he’s a lot of fun to talk to but I was a bit iffy because he’s just out of high school. I know there’s nothing inherently weird about that given that I’m a pretty young guy, but he was still one of my employees for a long time, he started working here when he was sixteen. Now he wants me to hang out with him and his friends sometime, which, again, not inherently weird, but they’re all fresh out of high school too. I’m starting to feel like a little bit of a creep now, because I am getting invited to outings with all of these people who just graduated a year ago. Am I over thinking this, or did I screw up?
