  1. @scribus Oh, yeah, I should still watch that movie.

  2. Stupid idea ( I am full of em )

    I watched http://rainbowdash.net/url/875063 ( and http://rainbowdash.net/url/875064 before that )

What if I were to use a Wimshurst machine to effectively power these "zombie led lights" ?

One step further, use a mini sterling engine powered by a tea-light to power the Wimshurst macine. Problem will be fine-tuning the rotational force.

But I might make an assembly of fire-powered-light that way :D

  3. @adiwan Ohh, now that is fancy.

Monday, 12-Aug-19 09:20:54 UTC from web in context
  4. @adiwan OHHH. Now I see, I think. I still would not personally use my vacuum cleaner ( Lets call him Henry ) to suck out CNC parts, even if pre-filtered, because I think that would be really terrible for Henry.

And my Henry is certified-pre-exploded. so one would think I would care less about my Henry.

And now I said Henry so many times the word has gone weird on me

Monday, 12-Aug-19 09:06:11 UTC from web in context
  5. @adiwan Yeah that is why it would make NO sense. So what are you planning ?

I mean you probably told already but probably did not understand it. I mean, pre-filter for a vacuum that is not a vacuum ?

Monday, 12-Aug-19 06:43:43 UTC from web in context
  6. @adiwan Sounds to me like you want to CNC in a vacuum/LPE. But I can not figure out why you would want to do that.

  7. Well, here are 2 pictures of Jay Bauman side by side, one from 2012, the other from 2015.

Not sure if that is a boss-transformation, or as one of my friends joked, the uptake of alcohol intake.

Well, I know what horse I am going to bet on. http://rainbowdash.net/url/875061

  8. No little Timmy, you must not laugh at that joke, it was made by [insert group of people] and they are [insert derogatory term]

Little Timmy : "But that joke was actually funny"

This is actually something I saw playing out while chilling in the park. Humans confuse the hell out of me sometimes.

  9. @tiff About 5 hours ago I did not know who he was. Right now I think I know more than the average person, stopping just short of starting to wear a tin-foil wapped Collander/strainer/big-ass-sifter.

Do I think my life has been enriched in any way ? Not at all. Heck it might just be worse.

I think he tried to play real-life as I play MineCraft. Thinking about 20 MooShrooms and a patch full of wheat. I am ignoring a whole lot, but it is hard to type something funny sometimes. Flashes a Creative Licence

  13. Soo. I am AbSoLuTeLy miserable right now. The doctor gave me some antibiotics like 3 days ago and I still have popped constantly ringing ears, a throat that looks and feels infected, constantly the desire to cough ( which is not doing me any good ), swallowing is a giant pain, and according to my friends I look and sound like a pirate with scurvey.

Oh yeah, my voice is totally gone. I mean sometimes half a word comes out if I try to talk.

If I might make a request. Send me some wholesome stuff. I kinda just watched every cute animal picture on the internet. So yeah, I need something new to do.

And yet everytime I look at those figures ( before submitting this dash ) I can hear Vaas's words reverb in my head and increment a certain number untill it exceeds, Idunno, how does 200 sound ?

  20. @scribus ... No ? Because I am pretty sure that everyone, even if they do not see eye to eye on the definition, that the situation is quite Potato Knishesty and thus undesirable.

I was mostly talking bout some IRL thing just now. "Name a movie or series that despite having a Mary Sue were good" 'Ehmm, ohkay, Star Trek The Next Generation, mostly the episodes without Wesley' and then we got into a load of BS regarding how words can only mean what is in the dictionary because Wesley is not a woman. Then we fell down the rabbit hole of what it means to make a new word or where slang comes from, whether it is legitimized as soon as it is on UD or some form thereof. Which led to whose definition we use. Pluto was mentioned, drifted off into whether we should or should not use caution around the Cancer word and whether that would be objectively or subjectively a good thing.

And at the end I hear the words "Well... I disagree with virtually everything you said, but I do not think you are insane" o_0

Tuesday, 06-Aug-19 21:29:02 UTC from web in context
  21. Soo. I just want to rant about 'objectivity' vs 'subjectivity'. They are not polar opposites, heck they might not even be opposites in some cases.

The first is the belief that the facts support some claim, the second is the belief that your claim is backed up by feelings.

Enter things like "Is Pluto a planet ?" "Is the Scorkl project a scam ?" "Does the FREE Electric work as advertised ?" "Does getting your lip pierced hurt ?" and then I ran out of non-politically-charged stupid questions.

In order "Depends on if you are talking to a scientist or a space-enthusiast" "You would be crazy to expect that thing to work as advertised" "Yes but only if your house uses 10W10A in a day" and "depends on your personal pain threshold".

If at any point someone goes "But my belief in objectivity/subjectivity is the only correct one because it is mine" then my eyes become like ping pong balls in a front loading washing machine.

Feel free to add some other examples.

Option 2 : Go check ALL of your luggage to see where the speakers went even though it is HOT as HELL and... .. . .. ... Who am I kidding we all know it is going to be option 2. I need my tunes.

  23. @adiwan You have my sympathies. All of them.

But hey you try explaining to your boss/superior that you could do the bare minimum to comply with what he wants versus doing what is needed to make it 'easier for the future' with just a little bit more elbow grease.

Mine got all iffy when I explained to him that the amount of paperwork he needs to do is negligable by the mess that would or had been avoided previously. I also bought examples.

    It was not taken kindly.

  25. I heard through the grapevines that there are a LOT of Twitter users that change their profiles to Germany, mainly or only because Nazi-ism is illegal over there.

And I am like... "Alright... Why ?" I mean people obviously think that there is something to gain by doing so ( whatever it is ) but there is bound to be a crackdown on such behaviour sooner rather than later. For starters you can not expect to use Germany's 'filter' for free. I guess.

  27. I'm gonna need someone to back me up in the great "Battle for Middle Earth 2 : Rise of the Witch King" versus "Battle for Middle Earth" debate.

There is also the village idiot who thinks that the whole debate is stupid since you can install both games in German and revel in high quality voice acting.

  30. @scribus Typen while totally fubar

To quote someone and I am not sure if that made any sense but

"I do not think you can prove, even mathematically, that anything above the 13th dimension even exists, since the 12th dimension is effectively EVERYTHING"

Buuuuut, yeah, I think generally people just think that you can add D's to the chess and make it sound smarter for smarter people.
