  1. Snippet of a conversation with a friend :

"No, I do not really think that walking around with a red trucker hat with the inscription Make Anthem Great Again is a good idea"

  2. @scribus Wetware ? Is that the thingie somewhere between shovel-ware and innate-shower-thoughts ?

  3. Alright, I need a better way to store the offline backups. The external hard drives I have are fine and dandy, however now it is getting quite troublesome to get the correct adapter and not-USB to USB cable.

Cus this mess right here is a Mess

  4. @scribus I never quite trusted soft hardware. It is an abomination, I mean what is next ? hard software ?

  5. So one of my friends recently got a parrot right?

Turns out that the quickest word they learn to 'speak' is the one that the owner uses the most, right?

Long story short, this parrot now finishes the sentances of people with the word "right", crazy, right?

  6. @adiwan Ah, yeah, me too. I probably have a PS2, N64, NES hiding around somewhere. Also a PSP, 3DS and for some reason an OG GameBoy within reach-length if I can remember what pile they rest in.

But what I really hate are updates, maybe especially so on Windows 10. If I want my system to go into hibernation at the end of the day ( because face it, sometimes I do not want to restart all of the stuff I was busy with ) and see there is an update queued, I might as well do a cointoss on whether or not the system will restart itself in the middle of the night and once done actually reboot untill the last YouTube thing I was busy with starts blaring though my speakers in the darkest hours of the night.

Quickest way to fix that is probably to switch browsers.

  7. @adiwan One of the reasons why I usually get my consoles after they left primary circulation. Then I proceed to use them offline in one fashion or the other.

  10. @adiwan Pretty sure Apple had their own version of Mario Maker ripoff, I can not remember the name of that. But I could find the Steam ripper-offer of Mario Maker. http://rainbowdash.net/url/874306

  12. @scribus Well, they did eventually leave, but I REALLY doubt it was because of the paper planes

  13. @scribus So it is either "Worry and be safe from agression" or "don't sweat and rest assured there is violence of some caliber lying in your future" ?

Well, if you want to know what I would say. "Living in fear that something will happen is almost always worse than the thing happening". Especially when it gets in the way of you doing things you would like to do.

  14. What do you do about a small group of loud talking people at 03:00 near an apartment complex in a very sleepy town ? Well my neighbour thought it would be a good idea to throw paper airplanes at them since he could not sleep thanks to them.

    Paper airplanes EVERYWHERE !

  15. @scribus Oh but I love the snark. Especially the kind of snark that people like Totalbiscuit, Tyrion Lannister, Dr House & Jon Stewart do/could/should provide.

Also whatever this is, http://rainbowdash.net/url/874300 , I mean that is not really snark is it ?

  16. @mrmattimation The only time when it would have been good for the Democrats to get rid of Trump would be January of 2016.

Each month after that it would be exponentially harder for them to get rid of Trump while saving face to the party.

But I am sure there are more than enough people who would tell you in your face that the short-goal immediate solutions outweigh the long-term ramifications.

It are those sorts of people who did not have to endure being around R.R.Martin long enough.

  17. @nerthos Ohh. Yeah that makes sense.

We are probably going to disagree on what is exactly basic though. I mean do we lump in the ability to bake bread from nothing but nature into the same camp as baking bricks ? Or in the same camp as being able to make a steel forge ?

  18. @scribus "Alles ken kapot in een kwartier". This notorious saying is from a Dutch demolition crew whom said "Everything can be destroyed in 15 minutes". Depending on your tools and enthusiasm of course.

Not really sure how that would translate to ANY president, but the things I could break, destroy, oblitterate, ruin, raze, dismantle, wreck, smash, shatter, bomb, extinguish, liquidate, erase or extirpate when given 18 months is sure to be limited only to my imagination.

But only if I have the proper tools for the job, of which I only own one; Alcohol.

  19. @mrmattimation I disagree respectfully. I think it would be way funnier if the end would read "P.S. I thank the President for not firing my ass back in June of 2017 when all of these shenanigans began and I 'accidentally' broke the last Covfefe machine."

  21. @scribus It was a great concept, but the lack of dedicated servers (Meaning P2P networking, with the game selecting the fastest 'node' as host, like with CoD on the XboX360, a thing that everypony and everyhuman hated) lack of balance, and dishonourable killings in a game called 'For Honor' ultimately brought nothing but toxicity. There even was a day-of-infamy, orchestrated by Reddit, to have a day of NOT playing the game trying to make the dev's aware that the game had huge problems.

  23. I just remembered For Honor. The video game where you could live out your fantasy of being a knight and play with a sword. Alternatively a Viking or ?Samurai? if you were one of 'those' people.

I would really like a game like that on the Nintendo Switch, but focused on couch-play instead of whatever For Honor's main aim was.

  24. @nerthos I do not think that doing good in video games is in any way a requirement for survival skills.

However making an ass out of yourself does not bode well in any situation, least of all when in a group when you need to fall back on basic human survival skills. ( like most of the stuff you do when at boy scout or marine camp, or pretty much any apocalypse-like game )

But jumping onto a box and then dashing onto another platform ? Nah. Unless if the 3th dimension dies or something.

  25. Apparently Star Trek is in licence trouble again. I say "Good !". I hope they will eventually make something I actually want to see.

If that means STD has to die, so much the better in my opinion. Not saying that I am hating on STD, but I am saying that I have read fanfiction that makes more sense.

I have already had someone telling me I am mad because I think this, because the way he looked at it, and I quote, "There is a VAST fanbase of Star Trek Discovery". I think he is very very wrong in that. As in mere sales of action figures and miniatures, Star Trek Enterprise is still outselling STD from what I have gathered. Those numbers are nowhere close to the behemoths of the original or TNG.

  27. According to one of my friends. "This will never stop being funny". Then why does it make me cry on the inside ? http://rainbowdash.net/url/874279

Maybe he cries on the inside manifest themselves as laughter ?

  28. @adiwan My desire to try that game RIGHT NOW rises exponentially since I am a mech-fan.

Sadly my speed to get in gear is about as fast as a Steiner Scout Lance.

You see, that is funny if you are a Mech-fan. Atlasses, More Atlasses !!!
