@coltz Yeah, you can definitely tell the background was rushed but the actual character looks amazing. The foreshortening is really well done, and I love the really excited expression you gave him. His costume design looks good in a dynamic position like this too. Good job man, I can tell just from looking at it that you had fun drawing it.

@coltz Yeah, I didn't criticize the background because as you mentioned you didn't put too much time into it. But the actual characters and the animal look really good, it's a really dynamic and entertaining picture.

Okay, so, me and some other brazilian artists are making a MLP Collab in celebration to the fifth season of the show, and I want people to see it. Pixel artists: what pre-made palettes do you use? or, if you make your own, how do you develop your palettes?

@caret7 The palettes used in pixel art depend heavily on things like the style you're going for, the size of the image, whether you're doing a landscape or a figure, etc. The only real suggestion I can give is limiting yourself to 3-4 shades for a color is generally a good starting point to avoid overshading. Check out the rendering limitations for various old consoles and base your palettes on those.

Today is the birthday of one of my favourite musicians, Lou Reed, so I decided to do a portrait in tribute of his legacy. Much of his work has had not only a profound impact on the world of music but also on me personally as both a musician and artist. He would've been 73 were he alive today. @clayinthecarpet I usually try to actively dial back on my ego when doing anything creative because most of what I do is pretentious enough as is.
