Can somebody please point out to the Republicans saying Trump’s actions implicitly disqualify him with voters from winning another election that they said the exact same thing about his “grab her by the Potato Knishesy” comments in 2016

I'm afraid that "Coming 2 America" will suck. The first film is my all-time classic feel good movie. The trailers don't bode well.

The only thing stopping me from doing a George Lucas re-release to keep that comic up to date is that I don’t know how to draw Joe Biden, I’ve tried so hard and I just can’t do it

@mrmattimation Try drawing Jim Carrey, but older?

Borderlands 2 is fun right up until I either run up against the usual "What am I stuck on, why am I not running, why can't I even jump, if I'm not supposed to be here how did I even get in and why can't I get out again" antics of every FPS ever... That, or the keyboard-as-controller issues of "I wanted my knife, not to throw a grenade at my own feet..." !vgp

@scribus True story: I grew up pretty much entirely on PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, so when I finally got a PC that could properly handle video games I was immediately put off by the keyboard controls and plugged in an Xbox One controller instead. To this day it's really hard for me to play shooters the "real" way.
-
@mrmattimation I had had an NES, GameBoy, SNES, Atari XE, and Sega Genesis before we got our first "real" family computer, a 486 running Windows 3.11. My parents declared that the computer was therefore not for games, unless they were educational. I believe I would go on to N64, 3DS, and Xbox 360 before trying WASD-anything.

Great! My car was stolen. A serious medical emergency and I get a BINGO on my Bingo card.
Friday, 05-Feb-21 16:21:03 UTC from web-
@scribus And I bought all the parts for repairing my rear window wipers. The car has a completely full tank. Luckily there aren`t any expensive or personal objects in there. I have contacted my insurance and I was at the police. I hope I get a good cash out for the car to buy a new used one.
-
@adiwan oh, I totally misread that, too. I had somehow construed it to mean that both were, collectively, a single square on the card... haha
-
@scribus I guess it's an eldrich and cursed Bingo card that slowly merges all squares into one.

Accidentally making straight people a minority in your cartoon universe because the only straights around got sucked into a different cartoon universe and it’s been too long now to resolve the situation

On the night from Thursday to Friday I had to call the police because a drunk person with an empty vodka bottle slept and snored on the staircase about next to my apartment. Probably one of my hate neighbours acquaintances. Then the next two days were extremely noisy and I had to call the police 3 times. In the span of the 3 days I was awake for 44 hours straight.

Hey here's one, how are they gonna keep the animation cell fan industry going when everything is all digital?
Thursday, 28-Jan-21 03:59:36 UTC from web-
@scribus Three answers: The first is that The Simpsons didn't switch to digital animation until the mid-2000s, so there's always about fifteen years of that to go through (and Disney not-withstanding (they've been doing digital since The Rescuers Down Under in 1990), the rest of the industry was also pretty late on that train), the second is that a 22-minute program averages around ten thousand unique drawings (more than that if it's a Simpsons, less than that if it's a Flintstones or Jetsons) so there's a LOT to go through, and the third is, and you didn't hear this from me, a lot of those animation cels you see on eBay are actually reproductions or pieces of promotional artwork which have been created expressly to be sold, so they quite literally will be able to send you Itchy's arm for decades.

Well I just got to see falling snow for the first time in my life, and in my own back yard at that! It did not stick around, nor was it even enough to show up on my phone camera. But it sure was cold and wet!
Monday, 25-Jan-21 23:51:41 UTC from web-
@scribus Coincidentally it snowed here too but the snow remained and left a 1cm thick layer on my car. And today I had to use the car. Luckily it was already starting to melt so removing it was quick. I'd like to see how you react when 3mm diameter hail falls down from the sky.
-
@adiwan We get little hail a couple times every few years or so. It tends to stop offices and empty classrooms as everyone stops to gawk and frolic, lol.
-
@scribus Haha. It's not often that it hails at my place. But every time my father tells me to drive the car under a bridge because he fears of hail damage. And I tell him that when it starts to hail heavily it's already too late.

@scribus It's also not fun being almost a victim of being run over. I can count about a dozen of events when I or the driver weren't paying attention. 3 were last year from suffering neighbour-induced insomnia.

@mrmattimation Why aren't you overclocking to the point you need buckets of liquid nitrogen noob???
-
@scribus The crazy thing is I DO have what one would consider “professional” hardware for this sort of thing, AND I was accelerating the render with a ray tracing-capable graphics card. It’s the METHOD I used to get that painterly look that kinda screwed with things, I’m pretty sure what I did (which I did on accident) was not on the list of things the developers of the program intended designers to do.
-
@mrmattimation So long as you're not still overnighting Polaroids of the day's frame back to HQ I guess

It basically involves generating as noisy an image as possible so that the built-in denoiser will attempt to “correct” it in a certain way that it makes “mistakes” in color value and blending.

Burning your tongue on hot tea.
Thursday, 14-Jan-21 17:46:59 UTC from web-
@scribus Just happened to me. I poured steaming hot tea into my mug and didn't put a thought into waiting for it to cool down for a short while. But other to the actual case of that happening it's a great idea for using it as a metaphor for various things. Your interpretation fits it well. It can also applied to saying things that are potentially false or need more time to be sure they are not.
-
@adiwan It's always pizza and the roof of my mouth for me, but coffee does run a close second.
-
@scribus Pizza was also a problem for me. Thankfully I haven't burnt myself with pizza (and its cheese) for a long time. Those burns last for days. Whenever I make or buy pizza I am paying attention to the amount of fat and cheese it has, which are always the culprit. So in the case of making pizza myself I cover the pizza lightly with cheese that that there is not a thick layer that can keep the molten lava hot long after it's out of the oven. I like thin and crispy pizzas anyway. The more cheese and fat the soggier they are and the harder the slices are to handle and eat. I bake my pizzas such that the bread is stiff enough the pizza (slice) can hold up itself.
