  1. @ceruleanspark More recent versions of the software can be adapted to allow custom emojis on the name field, but I'm not sure how complicated it'd be to implement on 1.0.1

  2. @tiff Curse you Tiff, I will have my revenge

Sunday, 06-Nov-22 06:11:30 UTC from web in context
  3. @mushi Definitely the expected aesthetic from what you told me lol

  4. @scribus I would still go on an RDN roadtrip no questions asked, even though I'd probably have to shoot someone a few hours in at this point. Bonus points for a certain someone, in his own words, wanting to hit me with a wrench but 100% not brave enough to actually try if in the same room.
You're cool though, so we can eat fries after the fights die down.

  5. @tiff You beat me by one, which is honestly praiseworthy.

  6. @mushi Ah you're back home then? Nice, that's no more than an hour's drive away.

  7. @mushi A match made in heaven, or france I guess

Sunday, 23-Oct-22 21:37:45 UTC from web in context
  8. @zeldatra You may say that, but once I finish developing my NFT insulin patent, I'll revolutionize the industry

Sunday, 23-Oct-22 20:10:27 UTC from web in context
  9. @mushi Turns out, the trick all along was to find a girl who felt about weird academic guys the way you feel about bugs

  10. @adiwan Really the issue with it is how it thoroughly insults the work of the original author, going for a philosophy completely opposite to Tolkien's. It would have been ok as its own standalone thing.

  11. @zeldatra Feign vulnerability to bait the cougars, sun tzu would be proud

Thursday, 20-Oct-22 17:08:26 UTC from web in context
  12. @scribus It's a waste to become immensely rich and not bananapost the world order. In his place, I would have gone through with ceasing satellite operations and responded to any further messages from the ambassador with "lmao" and a version of "friendship ended with mudasir" edited to pictures of zelensky and putin

  13. @zeldatra Good gun, a bit expensive for carry if you don't use it often though. I'm a beretta 9mm guy, always found them nice, they were the standard cop gun here for decades.

  14. >Ukranian ambassador to the USA tells Elon Musk to papaya off
    >Ol' Musky says he'll cease giving Ukraine access to Starlink for free as a result
    >He doesn't actually go through with it the next day
I am very disappointed, I thought he had a better sense of humor

Monday, 17-Oct-22 02:06:57 UTC from web in context
  15. @zeldatra You're leveling up, nice. What gun did you go for? .380 or something like that?

Monday, 17-Oct-22 01:58:36 UTC from web in context
  16. @zeldatra Aww man I missed the romance arc?

Friday, 14-Oct-22 07:17:18 UTC from web in context
  17. @zeldatra Epic rap battles of 2022

Wednesday, 12-Oct-22 03:43:32 UTC from web in context
  18. @zeldatra Was he right about them?

  19. @scribus For me "other teachers" hasn't been too big a hurdle, because even though some are antagonistic (particularly the ideologues) they also tend to be massive cowards, so my usual strategy of just talking with full honesty to whoever's in charge is not something they know how to deal with.
The district and the ministry are another issue altogether, they seem to be on some sort of one-sided competition to prove the limits of insanity and incompetence when it comes to regulations and counterproductive ideas can yet be pushed further. The latest great ideas they had was a proposal to remove the attendance requirements so that students can't fail a class by not attending; and to demand tech schools be more lax with dress code (the dress code for tech school is just no hats, no piercings or jewelry in the workshop, pants without holes and knee-length blue or white overall/duster, all of which are basic safety requirements in a workshop)

  20. @scribus Not that far then, you will have outlived most cavemen

  21. Theoretically the work rules and environment at highschools nowadays is downright nightmarish, but since in practice what you can and can't do comes down to how you frame it and how good you are at talking your way through the hierarchy, it's not stressful at all for me and so long as I get results the administration doesn't get in the way.
I do often see other teachers that aren't good at the workplace politics losing hair and sleep over it though.

  22. In a plot twist that I'm sure no one expected, I'm teaching highschool now, among other things. It's among the most fun jobs I've had.

  23. @scribus Made it to the 4 decades championship yet?

  24. @ceruleanspark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGfROOMYhik Saw this the other day, seems up your alley

  25. @adiwan We're currently going through the once-a-century social hysteria so at least one of them is true, the other requires more study.

Thursday, 06-Oct-22 18:38:07 UTC from web in context
  26. @zeldatra this sounds like a genuinely exciting roadtrip, it needs spoopy music

Thursday, 06-Oct-22 18:35:29 UTC from web in context
  27. 11 years so far, who's still alive?

Thursday, 06-Oct-22 18:34:15 UTC from web in context
  28. @riddhik Bring it on I love black magic

  29. @oracle No, Saddam posted for a bit under his post-fake-death identity but hasn't been around in a bit, he's old now.

  30. Reminiscing today, everything seemed to fall right in place, causality aligning and smiling in both the interactions with old friends and new ones, for me to feel as I did when I was 19 and this site was at its peak. I am genuinely happy to see that some people have vastly improved but not changed, and though regret of the friendship driftage exists, the memory is radiant and positive.
I love everypony here (nohomo), and if you'd like to rekindle broterhood, you all know how to find me. Doubly so for Scribus and Cerulean whom I once called friends, though we have barely talked in years.
