@mrmattimation So fighting racism with racism? that's one way to go about it, I guess.

Trying for once to get a new warframe within the first 24 hours of it coming out, and the bugs match the expectations.
Even the unstuck command is bugged!Thursday, 23-May-19 07:56:34 UTC from web -
@mrmattimation You definitely can considering they're both starting other projects and massively negative image can make investors reconsider their choice of director or writer.

@drinkingpony Spoiler-free, people are mad because the show writers got extremely focused on being unpredictable, basically ditching character development and having the cast behave counter to how they did in previous seasons just so they could say "hah, bet you didn't predict this!", which is just poor writing.
It's another case in a long list of tv writers thinking they're much better at their jobs than what they are, and believing letting their "creativity" run free will improve upon the source material rather than trash it.
And that's how you get 1.45 million people to demand you get fired and replaced https://www.change.org/p/hbo-remake-game-of-thrones-season-8-with-competent-writers -
@scribus Disappointing pee pee kung fu

@tiff I'm up for it if you want. Credentials: years of playing and DMing tabletop games

@drinkingpony Those skills, while basic to civilization, are taught skills, not inherent to the human condition.
Anyone can learn taught skills, while natural born skills are a requirement to learn and execute the rest. To put it in another way, any person can build muscle as long as they have limbs, but a lack of limbs bars one from bodybuilding completely. -
@drinkingpony I wasn't talking so much about videogames but rather the mental process behind that one bit. The guy fails at combination of basic concepts, hence not figuring out he can do both at once for quite a while.
Survival skills includes things like abstraction and adaptability, not just boy scout stuff. -
@drinkingpony When you fail to qualify for basic human survival skills, you become a journalist
-
@maiyannah I was honestly disgusted earlier at a local news anchor praising the measure with a "journalists and content creators get no revenue for social media sharing and now facebook and google will have to pay them, this is great" speech.

@nerthos Basically my question is, will this configuration work or do I need to lay two separate ground circuits for it?
I simplified the L/R wiring, I know that it wouldn't work without the extra bridge between speakers, but it's not important to this question. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/874159 -
Got these two cables to replace the wire of my headphones. Silicone coating instead of rubber, high quality. The black one is much nicer looking, but has 4 wires so it can only support the headphones. The orange one has five so it can support stereo headphones and a microphone, but is heavier and was used in an industrial welding area so it's not super pretty. I could try to use the common wire for both mic and speakers but I don't have a composite jack port on the computer and I'm not sure if it works with two separate jacks.
The connectors are compatible between both so that's not an issue, they'd connect to the same port.
Anyone experienced in audio hardware around?

@scribus Yeah but it's much harder to use for something like that. 90º angles and rails are super easy on steel frame.

@adiwan Honestly nothing beats steel frame and bolts
-
@scribus Slappy, basically. A fat man slapping his belly gently could do the same sound

@ceruleanspark Well, it was never proven that piranha plants are actually plants, and not plant-resembling animals. There's a marked lack of academic institutions in the mushroom kingdom.
-
@midn Other than this one, the instances that I remember still running on GNU Social/PostActiv (other than small one-user instances or bot platforms) are loadaverage.org and community.highlandarrow.com

@midn Welcome to RDN! We're running StatusNet, a previous iteration of what would later be called GNU Social, but it's basically the same.
Do keep in mind that this instance is mostly self-oriented so federation might be iffy. -

In any case this particular shooter looks less and less like one, particularly due to doing a classical 8chan thing of trying to sic the media on someone they dislike but is not particularly involved, and the fact that cia plants usually get themselves shot to tie loose ends, but this one got captured. -
Sad times for New Zealand.
Meanwhile, arguments about whether the shooter was legit or a CIA/whatever plant trying to do a 9/11 are popping up. -
@scribus It'd make rival fights more interesting too considering all three would have a chance against eachother.
-
Consider this for the upcoming pokémon game starters:
Water/Dragon for the chameleon
Fire/Fairy for the rabbit
Grass/Steel for the monkey
Then for the first time each starter would have one advantage and one disvantage over each other, and the rock paper scissors nature of starters would disappear once they evolve. -
@xrevan86 Huh, didn't know there was a group for that.
