And now !RDNrefresh isn't working. I have to keep clicking refresh, LIKE A CAVEMAN
Tuesday, 29-Nov-11 14:32:18 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Might just need to reinstall the script, I've had to do that once or twice since I started using it.
-
@colfax I think it might have fixed itself. No idea what happened.
-
@xtux345 That's what !rdnrefresh is for.

@ponygeist Thanks a lot! I wonder what's changed since I've been gone. I think 2 months? lol
Tuesday, 29-Nov-11 01:02:05 UTC from web-
@sonicdash Still breathing here, I think. *coughwheezehack* :p Ewww! I'm sorry that you have this bug, too. :( I hope that goes away for you soon! I've spent much of the day with that feeling that my mind is floating in sludge. I hope you don't have to contend with that when you go in for your exams! New study techniques, though? Do tell! And some quality quiet time sounds like a great thing to indulge in when you're on your winter break. :)
-
@astra Well that's good to hear. Try some warm tea to clear your throat up. :) Thankfully it isn't hitting me too hard, so it should be gone by the time I take my first exam on Wednesday. Yup. My professors have been posting the results to homework, exams and quizzes, so I'm going to write down the answers and create side-notes on the parts I did wrong to remember those mistakes I made. Let's see how it turns out. That it does. :) Think you might be able to enjoy some peaceful quiet time as well?
-
@sonicdash Making myself some nice chamomile tea is at the top of my list of things to do as soon as I get home. :) And that's a very good idea for getting ready for exams, so you can focus more on the weak spots. Sounds to me like you're going to do very well, there. As for quiet time here, probably here and there, but, overall, it looks like things are going to stay busy for a while here. I'll manage all right, though. Always have so far. :)

O dear, it seems I forgot to refresh... now i got 3 pages to rummage through

@seanthebluesheep It's part of the newest !RDNrefresh update.
-
@thatonepony Ah. 'kay.

@adrianbrony Encode your spoilers, please.
Saturday, 26-Nov-11 16:46:16 UTC from web-
@colfax how?
-
@adrianbrony With !rdnrefresh.
-
-
As you all know, the episode will soon be released, we request that ALL spoilers be done with the spoiler hash tag and be encoded in ROT13 encryption which can be done from the !rdnrefresh script. Thankyou, and don't spoil it for other ponies.

I don't always use !rdnrefresh, but when I do I refresh every 5 seconds, stay updated my friends. I just felt compelled to write this without really knowing why, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I have heard several time it is recommended you don't set it any faster than 15 seconds.

@haganbmj Had to uninstall !rdnrefresh cause it kept causing me to get these messages and preventing me from loading RDN without having to restart Chrome every 10-15 minutes. At first I thought it was just my computer but then I realized it started happening around the same time I installed rdn refresh and has been getting worse and worse over the past few days that I've had it. Is there something I need to do to fix this cause I was just getting used to it and now I miss it. http://ur1.ca/5y4pm

@macpony55 Yeah I run into these from time to time as well - it will send the message, so I'm not sure what the error is all about. All the same, I'm not even sure it's a refresh issue - could be just a server side deal. I'll take a look again though.
-
@haganbmj hi
-
@haganbmj Alright thanks, I can't even send the message most of the time though and it also takes RDN pages close to 5 minutes to load in some instances where as without it I can load a page within 5 seconds.
-
-
Mmkay, !rdnrefresh is back to 1.7.1.2 ~ I'll update again tomorrow or something.

Been on RDN since 8/26/2011 and !rdnrefresh FTW =D .. using RDN Every Bucking day

@haganbmj I multitask that's what tabs are for ... so that way I'm not bored
-
@lyokotravels Haha, same here - I never just sit on rdn. I let it go in the background and check whenever the number of new posts nears 20. If I didn't have the refresh I would virtually never refresh the page ~~ The internet is for multitasking xD
RDN's Lucifer likes this.

Just passed through an updated version of !rdnrefresh - Added a 'decrypt' button to each post (for the damn rot13 encoding you guys thought was necessary xD), along with fixing the style to accept this. ~ I set up my page a bit differently than most, but I tried to test the default page configuration as much as possible. As always, Lemme know if there are any issues.

@haganbmj As a quick note; Decrypting a post will essentially break it. Any links (including those to user pages, groups, and tags) will be removed. I'll work on this for the future, but for now just wanted to get a script running hah. !rdnrefresh
-
Oh yes, and !rdnrefresh does not work with Chrome installed on Ubuntu, in case anypony was wondering
Tuesday, 15-Nov-11 03:13:32 UTC from web-
@ponydude2143 Scratch that actually, it's working now. I must have missed something while installing.
-
@macpony55 It does for me, but you have to have a plugin for managing userscripts to make it work properly. I'll dig up the link tomorrow. Not a good time for me to look it up right now. But it should be mentioned in the group info.

Refreshing this page every second with one hand... Writing an essay with the other!!!

!rdnrefresh updated ~ Quote from @ponydude2143 "Here's a newer version of RDN Refresh that supports ROT13 for spoilers, a method we've agreed on so that ponies without RDN Refresh don't have to worry."

So... how do you think spoilers be dealt with?
Saturday, 12-Nov-11 06:01:41 UTC from web-
@madflavors The urge is hard to resist, especially when you've just seen a rally great scene.
-
@madflavors I'm having trouble getting chapter 3 going the same way I belted out 2; largely because the beginning is pretty rough
-
@tenmihara yea. it comes in bursts.

So I was wondering, and now I know. !RDNrefresh will block one's own spoilers, if one uses the hashtag.

@ceruleanspark My PC. You don't expect me to store all my homework on a tablet, do you? That would be akin to storing all my money in the fireplace in the middle of December.
-
@theonepony All the productivity apps on my iPad drop stuff into dropbox for me in real time, so it's a nonissue. It's actually less work for me to do that than it is for you to move an SD card. Look up simplenote for text editing. Android has it too. Automatic real-time over the web syncing.
-
@ceruleanspark That's the idea, but I also need more room to have stuff. Even if it syncs with Dropbox, I would still have to clear things off my tablet for space. It's just more efficient to have more room. Besides, if I really wanted to(which I do not) I could load Linux on an Android.

!movies - "The Thing" (2011) - Prequel, not a remake, of John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982). However, don't think that just because you've seen JCTT you know how the new one will end. The plot is the same - there's an alien in Antarctica. The story, however, is significantly different, and it does a fair bit to expand the story of the two films together. JCTT focused more on paranoia and what lurks in the dark, whereas 2011's did have some good paranoia moments, but broke out into Action scenes much more frequently. The Thing itself was wonderfully well done when it appeared, and it had some really neat tricks up its metamorphic sleeves. One thing I appreciated was that the "split the party" moments had a darn good reason to happen, as opposed to stupid teen slasher flicks. Overall, though, it wasn't a necessary film and I still like JCTT better, but this was still good for what it was. B+
Friday, 11-Nov-11 05:18:15 UTC from web-
@scribus And now, #spoiler time! :p If you don't have !RDNrefresh blocking #spoilers and you care about "The Thing" (2011) stop reading now! Alrighty. There was a scene where they were trying to determine who was a Thing by checking for fillings - it can't mimic non-organic materials. I thought, "Damn, I'd be screwed, I've never had a filling!" Then I thought, "Wait, I have earrings!" And later on, a character's earring became a plot point. Moral of the story - NEVER FIGHT SHAPESHIFTING ALIENS IN ANTARCTICA EVER! That earring only protects you from humans clever enough to think that deeply; Things will still eat you dead. :p

I know everyone has their own interests, but I am truly sick of hearing about Modern Warfare 3. Not judging those who like it, but yeah. !vgp

@leonkfox Download the new !RDNRefresh and set it to hide all posts involving the game?
-
@retl I didn't mean on here, I meant in general. Plus I'm on my phone right now anyway.
-
@leonkfox Ah. Right. :o I'll admit, I don't hang out with a lot people who have the game to hear much about it right now, though.
-

!rdnrefresh seems to work fine as the raw install - not the firefox specific one - using Firefox 8.0 ~ As a note for any of those upgrading to Firefox 8. You'll still need Greasemonkey, but that's to be expected.

@thelastgherkin That's what I figured, but ponies who remember the spoiler tag are the ones who also remember the spoiler policy.

@ponydude2143 I thought that's what it was, just that it never got enforced.

@takeshitakenji Yes I know dear. ^^ I'm sorry if you got that, from my explanation. 99.9% of things written in text and all that. Hehe. I have a travel partner from two jobs ago, he and I are similar. So I can completely relate with you dear. ^^
