Isolated another regression in the new youtube layout: you can no longer toggle email settings for your subscriptions anywhere but the manage subscriptions page.

@redenchilada Because I like their videos and want to support them but don't want them to flood my inbox when they upload 15 hour-long videos at once (GrimithR ~loves~ doing this). Because I subscribed to them a long time ago and their more recent videos don't interest me anymore but I don't want to unsubscribe. And whatever other reasons might exist.

@toksyuryel That just gets into the realm of turning subscriptions into some meta self-worth numbers game, though. If you're not watching their videos, there's really no reason to subscribe. :v

Well, looks like I've found something more concrete to complain about wrt the new youtube layout aside from "it's not centered": there no longer appears to be a way to browse the other videos a user has uploaded on the same page as one of their videos. As far as I can tell you now have to go to their channel page and browse their uploads there.

@renovatedkitchen I don't know the music, but the theme has been used in a lot of things, notably skyrim about that time with the thieve's guild.

@abigpony So? And most games theese days are dark realistic and boring, I'm all for good graphics and all but art style is what truly matters in my opinion the art was different does that make it bad? no

@bowandlyre No, but it isn't the sole element of a decade-winning game. Sure, it was different art, the problem is that they TRIED something and it was crap in execution because they overdid it. I'll admit, I bought games like Skyrim and Borderlands for the art. They look nice. That doesn't make them spectacular games. I won't argue with you that a lot of games today are trying to make games that look realistic and bland because that's what consumers like. It's half because of the Call fo Duty effect in which they keep making crappy games because they sell and it's risky to make something different, but it's also half because they're trying to push the limits of graphics and such. That's why there are so few games that overtake the industry nowadays. They know what everyone wants so they keep doing it.
