  11. # :-) @Gnome was the first GNU/Linux desktop I used when I installed a free operating system for the first time in 2005. After so many years and a myriad of changes, it continues to be the main desktop I use. I thought I would never touch it again when I saw # but I was wrong. I kept returning to it and found it the most helpful desktop when I was having # problems; Gnome3 absolutely minimizes the number of mouse clicks and hand movements. I can do everything from the keyboard without causing extreme repetitive stress. I wanted to highlight this aspect today, because some people tend to see it only as something "designed with touchscreens (not desktops) in mind"; they are wrong. Gnome works perfectly for those who want to get things done efficiently. Gnome is the future. Thanks !Gnome :-)

Gnome turns 18 today. Read and share more at http://ur1.ca/nfld3 and

  13. "People voted on a Magna Carta for the Internet and here's what they want" - wait: "...what people in Britain want from a Magna Carta for the digital age." [1] Internet? Digital age? Or web? Just what were (young) people asked (by the British Library) to propose rules for? "THE WEB WE WANT WILL..." [2][3] So if we ask them for rules for the web, are they actually also thinking of email? or chat? [1] http://mashable.com/2015/06/15/magna-carta-digital-age-internet/ - [2] http://www.bl.uk/my-digital-rights - [3] http://www.bl.uk/my-digital-rights/vote-now -- Some rather muddled thinking here, especially on teh part of the British Library, but nevertheless the results show some interesting trends. # # # # #
