Mais puisque #Mastodon applique la ligne #OStatus, il est possible pour toi de faire des groupes affinitaires avec les membres de Pouet en inscrivant ton identifiant du !troupeau dans l'abonnement à distance (comme pour n'importe quelle instance GNU social, StatusNet…). @moonman It is horrible, I agree. There's a reason I don't say I'm a !GNUsocial developer, but rather just a maintainer. I want nothing more than to see the codebase get rewritten from scratch in a sensible language.
Unfortunately, given the great body of work that the codebase is, rewriting and including all functionality that comes along with it takes a long, long time. #Mastodon's been at it for about a year now and still doesn't have, afaik: #FOAF, groups, various small helpful markup/header treats.
But they're getting there I guess. Unfortunately I'm allergic to Ruby. -

Seems #mastodon is trending (I'm a bit slow off the mark). Reading on the Internets I'm surprised how some/most articles, supposedly written by people with technical knowledge, make absolutely no mention of !gnusocial. Oh well, being in the lime light was never the reason anyway. Long live the !fediverse!!

Reading on the Internets I'm surprised how some/most articles, supposedly written by people with technical knowledge, make absolutely no mention of !gnusocial. Oh well, being in the lime light was never the reason anyway. Long live the !fediverse!!

Hey #mastodon people, if someone of you read this and is located on mastodon.social, so he/she can communicate with the awoo.space echo chamber (or whatever this is), tell the admin that he/she should replace the message "Pick a server that you trust — whichever you choose, you can interact with everyone else" on the startpage with something, which isn't a complete lie. Then he/she don't have to write messages like this: https://social.kokolor.es/attachment/17875

#Mastodon update: Admins can now easily close registrations with a custom message. In other news, I have closed registrations to mastodon.social for now ensure a quality of service for all existing ones, and to promote other federated nodes.

@piersb but the real beauty here is that there are hundreds of #GNUSocial / #StatusNet instances that #Mastodon already can federate with. We are many.

@micahflee @mcscx @quincy @lambadalambda no doubt about it. my point is: FLOSS, federated services seem to have a way of surviving a phase of "normal people" losing interest to resurface later.
On the other hand, FLOSS, federated services need *content* to bring in more users and break the #WalledGardens monolopy. That's why the current #Mastodon run is important to me.
